How much in peoples bands?

Hi there i was wondering if people would mind telling me how much they have in their bands?
I have a 10ml band with 6ml in and seem to have no restriction, nothing gets stuck,( i was expecting bread, chicken ect all the things people had previously mentioned) I can eat huge portions of crunchy food. Am i missing the feeling of ?????

I would appreciate other peoples experiences as im pulling me hair out thinking i am missing something which in turn = failure in my head.

I have 3mls in 10mls band which I got at time of surgery. Having some probs with acid reflux at the moment...if it wasn't for that I also feel I could eat anything and everything. Got my first fill on 17th.

I had 4ml in my 10ml band at surgery and I didnt feel any different what so ever, however bread did get stuck for me and also rice. Just had my fill and now got 6.5ml in so will let you know how restricton goes but hopefully ive got some! Im on sloppy foods after fill atm and I seem to be fuller than usual! XX

I'm 8ml in an 11ml, sounds like you're either eating sliders or in need of a fill?!

I have 5 mils in a 7mil band have fab restriction as always - sounds like ur in need of a fill - ( how much dense food can u eat ?)I know you say u can eat chicken without it getting stuck, but so can I , I cant eat a lot of it mind ( prob about 3 50p sizes and very slowly) you should still be able to eat it without it getting stuck hun x

I could eat a whole chicken lol large ( bigger than a fist) jacket pot with a tin of tuna and skin,4 or more slices of thick bread,( banana sandwiches) as much fruit and veg, pasta rice nothing with sauces, massive bowl bran flakes.
Which is same pre band, i know these portions are massive and have to curb them using will power, due to not wanting to damage my band ect. i have had it in me head from the start dry dense foods.

Im just suprised that my band is over half full and i can still eat like this

I'm at 6mL on a 10mL band and starting to feel restriction, mostly in the form of constant pain lol. Just hang in there, all stomachs are different and will get restriction at different points. Just try to eat small amounts for the sake of your band and pouch. Better safe than sorry fill up with liquid if you feel really hungry.

I had a 9 ml band and my sweet spot was 6.75 it was great untill they put 7.5 in things just stuck and caused it to slip I had very bad reflux and was coughing up coffee grains
But when it was working great was fantastic

thanku everyone for your comments, i have been feeling quite down latley, sounds like when i have a fill next fri im gonna know about it.

I have 6.5ml in a 10ml band and only felt restriction of some kind at 6 ml. Started to get foods stuck at 6 ml and really had to learn how to eat again. Small pieces and slowly. I am still on liquids as only just had .5ml in and I am hoping I will be in a good place.

I've got 6.5 mls in 10ml band and after last fill taking me from 5 too 6.5 I have fantastic restriction x

Im having to go back to my hospital tomorrow, as I had a fill last Tuesday (2nd fill) from 3.5ml to 4.5ml in my 10ml band....all ive tried so many soft/sloppy/mushy foods, and nothing, unless smooth soup, is going through.

So im going for a de-fill as everything's so painful and I dont think I could live on just clear/smooth soup...

But my specialist nurse said that everyone's stomach is different, sometimes the fat around the stomach goes first meaning more fill is needed to restrict you, or if the fat around the stomach goes last...making the small amounts of fill being enough....

Thats why we all have different size bands and different amounts of fill in it....

I have a 14ml band and have 0mls in. I only had my band put in on saturday and only just found out I have a 14ml band after reading my GP's letter as no one at the hospital told me. I just assumed I had a 10ml band. I dont know if having the larger band is a good thing or not, but that is what I have so I will work with it. I was told it was empty but Snack was told hers was empty too but had 2 mls in when she went for her first fill. So I will assume it is empty till I am told otherwise but even if I do have a few mls left in I don't know if that makes any great difference in a 14 mls band? I am only on liquids and one day out but I have no gas pain and everything seems to go down well. Burping is a bit painful though.

Hi Sam, How did your fill go? Would love to know how many mls you got put in and if you feel restriciton yet? Thanks :)

I have 5.5ml in a 10ml and would say i have no restriction. I sometimes feel somethings moving slowly through the band but can still eat the Lion's share!! Had my band fitted on 11 Feb and thought I'd be well underway by now so I too am feeling quite disheartened!!

Are you eating the right textured foods ie non sliders?

Hi bella, i have 7.2 in a 10ml. im not feeling the pain or throwing up. funny thing today tho ive felt full all day after 40g bran flakes this morn 3 hrs later tryed to av a drink just wouldnt go down, an hr later had a boiled egg and couple glasses of squash im still full feel like ive only just eaten a meal..... smiles all across me face hope this is what they call restriction altho yesterday i ate like a moshi monster again no pain :(

Hi Sam, Thanks for the reply and I hope you have found your ''sweet spot''. I am still on liquids but feel I could eat anything and it would not be a problem. But I am hoping to get to my sweet spot too sooner rather than later, but I am not going to push it :)
PS What is a Moshi Monster? Am I showing my age lol :)

Hi Jo doesn't seem to matter what I eat. I eat all meats, fish, salad, ryvita, Melba toast, cous cous, rice, bread (toasted and non toasted) at times I wonder if it's there at all but they've told me they'll get me there next time as the nurse is gonna get me to drink as she fills???? Had my op in Feb so really thought i'd be feeling the results by now. I worry as well because although everyone who knows me has said there is a huge difference in the speed at which I eat I feel like all the things they tell you have gone to the back of my mind cos it's taking so long to get right :( e.g I certainly eat a bigger bit of meat than the rubber of the top of a pencil....because I can!! I fear I'm in for a nasty shock  x
