Hi Brett

Claire must have read my mind,i was just sat wondering how you were feeling with the op fast approaching.
Hows the pre op diet going i cant remember which one your doing.
I am on day 3 of the milk and yoghurt one and 7lbs lost so far :D.

Lets have a update please.

x

yea im feeling OK lol ... i wrote on a few peoples threads that after day 4 of my 1000 cal day diet i fainted ...

im on 5 slim fast a day with 2 lt clear fluids. and i had only had 2-3 slim fasts in the day and i fainted at the top of the stairs where i live in the rain on the floor .. with my poor mother not knowing what to do..

had an awful pain across my tummy and i hit the floor couldn't breath and eyes where rolling and went white as a sheet...

so the next day i had some chicken Brest .. and i have added soups in to my diet cause i needed some kind of food.. i thought i would of been fine on the drinks.. but im so scared of it happening again..

i called hospital yesterday 9 days on and asked what i can do . i was told to have 2 or more slim fasts a day and my fluids have the soup and maybe a small meal on evening .. they didn't think i was having enough and thats why i fainted ..

but anyway 6 days to go well 5 really.. Friday 8th 7 am i go in..
im excited to have it all over with but i am scared about going under i hate that feeling ...

my friend had hers yesterday by same surgeon she is doing good so wish it was all over with now lol ..

but its all becoming real and quickly lol ..........

aw brett, you should be getting out just before i go in... im in the monday at 2pm so i wont be around to see how your getting on post op, so i really hope everything goes great ans you have a speedy recovery with as little pain as possible!

As i said im glad youve got your diet sorted, some people cant survive on 1000 cals day, you know, some people have bigger frames and do more through out the day (i just sit around on here lol)

good luck brett!!!!!!!!

.x.

Aww Brett sorry to her you had a bad experience with the pre op diet.I felt the same and finished up having some home made veg soup as I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm glad you've sorted it and that you're ready for the op. Take care and not long now so hang on in there xxGaynorxx

Brett, just wanted to wish you all the best...please let us all know as soon as you can how u are doing?

xx

awww Brett, shame about the fainting, but thankfully you have got it sorted out. Not long to go and i know your excitement must be building. keep us up to date, how much have you lost so far on the pre-op?

thanks everyone ... i havent weighed my self as yet .. need to go to boots or somewhere to do it ;o)

You are a handsome, sexy lookin thing Brett. You'd better get your Nike's on and start runnin from all those admirers who'll be chasing you love!!!!! Unless of course thats a problem you live with now, which wouldnt surprise me!! ;)

Sad to say, coz we should be desired and appreciated as 'big' people too, but I must be honest and say have definitely had more male attention/expressions of interest in the last few weeks. :D

Good luck with it hun, be thinkin of ya x

lol to be honest Hun that was one of the things i have had to tackle with my mind ...

cause being a gay man .. im not sure if you have heard of all the categories there is lol .. twink, bear, chub, sub,Dom,skin head, suit, etc etc .. goes on and gay men always fall in to one and im a BEAR lol ..

im a big hairy guy tattooed shaved head .. never ever had an issue with finding a man alway had many offers of partnership.

and my other half likes bigger fellas too ... so its been a huge worry for me WHAT AM I TO BECOME.. and to fall out of what i have always belonged to and who i am ..

some gay men make a lifestyle out of what category they fall in.. such as bear holidays and events and party's and clubs and bars ...like a lifestyle.. luckily i haven't gone to that extreme however i am known on the bear scene and i have lots of friends who are bears.

i was voted in 2002 i think .. in top 5 best looking bears in Europe and did photo shoot for gay advertising.. was like a beauty pageant for gay men lol .... Bears ...

what happens after my surgery will i still belong will i be cast out cause i don't look the same .. will i still have the appeal i have now toward other gay men ?

its been a scary process for me in more than one way.. i have had to tackle with my mind and feelings toward what will happen ..

so i still have all this to over come lol xx

Good luck with it all Brett. Have you got someones mobile number so you can let us know how you are going, or have you persuaded your OH to post with an update.

We will all be thinking of you while you are away. xx

Hi Brett,

I cant confess to knowing so many of the 'larger gay men' categories, but do know of chubby chasing and the term 'chub'. I can associate with your concerns about acceptance once you have lost a lot of weight. You, like many of us do have complete acceptance and love from our respective partners/maybe more if we are lucky ;)

I do remember feeling so confused about 3 days after the surgery and a bit weepy about who I was going to become and how people would perceive me. For almost 10 years I have been 'big Claire'. Without sounding big headed or boastful, I know I'm considered the good time girl, always good for a laugh, chatty............blah, blah. Isnt it often the case that the fatty is the most fun to be around, or certainly what we are led to at least think?? For me, being fat was all part of the persona if that makes sense. In reality I've dropped almost 6 of the 12 stones I need/want to lose and I'm still the same bubbly, nice to be around person. People comment and congratulate me on my weight loss, but they still see CLaire as CLaire. I dont know why I thought they wouldnt. All in the mind I guess and as I've said before, it's a brain bypass we need not a gastric one. Maybe one day it'll be available!

Good luck Mr Brett Bear!!

Brett - I really wish you all the best.Let us know how it goes. It is a real emotional journey, but you have embarked already with the pre op diet, and heading in the right direction, being positive, and confident enough to share your anxiety. Thank you. x

I am sorry about the fainting thing but glad it was sorted quickly poor old mum bet she was terrified!!
