It's exactly a week since I had my VLS. It was keyhole and went well, even though I was expected to be high risk. It's been a roller coaster, but I've recovered well and today I feel good. My tummy is all bruised but I no longer look 10 months preggo. And for the first time I feel hungry. Maybe some very runny porridge for tea?
I just want to shout out my appreciation for my amazing surgeons, Mr. Feinnes and Mr Adamo here. They took me on when other surgeons would have run a mile because I have liver diesease, but they are good compassionate men and fantastic doctors. This is the start of a whole new me! I have lost 10 lbs! And it's gooood to be home although the food my family are eating looks and smells so tempting and I can't have any. Meh. Never mind.

Congrats Ditsy

Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Your posts will help others with their research as Im sure you are the only sleevie here.

Wishing you every success with your weight loss

Oops I put VSL in the OP instead of VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy). I was on painkillers.
The sleeve is rare I notice. I don't know why, because it's less invasive than a bypass, and is a good substitute for people who can't get on with a band. The anatomy isn't changed in a VSG, the stomach is still attached to everything it was before it is just made much smaller.
I feel fantastic 8 days post op and have lost 10 lbs. I love being a sleevie.
