Hi Sarah, and welcome. I'm also from Leeds and had a bypass in December, which surgeon are you having?

I've had relatively easy ride after the op, just followed the hospitals instructions and so far have lost 4 stone. I had my op at Jimmys, mr Pollard was my surgeon. I had open surgery and had gallbladder removed at same time.

I asked doc in Nov and got refered to weight management which is a 12 wk thing but I got sent to do an 8wk course which was useful as they go Thu as aspects of the op and after. And get refered next Week to surgeons so all in all 4months. Not sure how long I will wait to se surgeon

Hi
My GP referred me in Sept 2012 and had my first appointment at St Richards 18th Jan 2013 & got a phone call in Feb offering me 17th April for my bypass, so 7 months in total.

Different arras have different timescales, I'm on Leeds, didn't have to do weight management and from seeing GP to op was just short of a year.

She forgets she iron tablets and ends up ill but she down to a size 10 works full time runs round after 6 grandkids no problem. She can not eat much meat as upsets her stomach.

Welcome, and good luck with your journey. Took me 2 and a half years from seeing the doc to surgery date, lots of hoops to jump through but I had no co-morbids which was probably why! :)
