Dont know about Halifax, but it took me over a year to convince NHS to let me have the op, it took a lot of pressure and letters and phone calls, but eventually I was approved and never looked back (this was in Wigan by the way.)

Hi

At one stage you may be asked where you want your surgery, do some research now to see if you have a national bariatric centre near you. That is a specialist department within a NHS Hospital, their surgeons and nursing staff will be much more experienced and the waiting lists will be shorter as they do loads. I did this after I was put on one surgeons 2year waiting list and got it down to 12 weeks, now all done and dusted.
