That's easy for you to say Liz you've had your procedures, for those that are still waiting either to hear about funding or for a surgery date the wait can seem intolerable.
While I don't like reading threads asking how someone can ostensibly jump the queue, I feel we should show a little empathy for those who are not lucky enough to be in the position we are

yeah ok fair comment Karl, just some ppl are abusive and thats not nice, i appoligise i just dont like been talked to like crap thats all i do understand peoples dispair im not stupid, sometimes its not nice been used as a abusive sounding board thats all appoligies again.
It really doesnt matter at all, im normally here for everyone you know that, i just had a moment of arrggghhh !

I know you are and that's why I was surprised by this thread. You don't have to take abuse from anyone Liz but if you have a beef with someone in particular from here for whatever reason report it to the mods.

im fine Christine, just ignore me lol, yanno what im like the day after my b12 inj i was great then yesterday i just flopped went to sleep where i was sat omg its terrible, but i need this tiredness to stop i havent got time really to be napping here and there in the day lol

i had my 1st bypass review and by there scales ive lost 22lbs,mine 24llbs, there happy with my progress and i am too, my bmi is now 32 im happy with that, my weight loss is slower than some bypassers but thats because i havent as much to lose as some people have, i accept this and i accept its not a race, im back in my size 14's and im more than happy with that, i said if i dont lose anymore then im ok with that as my bypass was more just to help shift my regain and help with long term weight management, the dietician seems to think i will lose more and shes most likley correct, i will be starting regular excercise next month as well when the new gym ive joined is completed, im more focused since my bypass and feel like im back on the right track, thankyou so much for asking how im doing, i hope your well too x

Liz when i saw your post i totally agreed with you... However i would have thrown a few niceties in there, i remember how it felt like i'd been waiting forever for my surgery but when i got to my surgery date i thought ''oooh heck that's come round quick''...
For those waiting for surgery, try not to be too impatient, your turn will come and you will go to the ball and you'll look fab in your likkle ikkle dress (or suit in Karlos case)...

we are all human and we all feel like venting sometimes, a few times I have felt like it seeing some comments on how 'rubbish' the hospital is and if people genuinely feel its that bad they are free to go elsewhere and see if they fair any better!
Working at SRH I will come to the defence of all our surgeons (and anaesthetists) who work extremely hard doing long hours and often even coming in on days off to check their patients.
I wish people would remember the surgeons do the surgery and the business managers control the finances so waiting lists can vary especially in an over stretched NHS which is facing continued budget and staffing cuts.
Although I do appreciate how frustrating it can be when it happens, it annoys me when some people blame the surgeons for postponing surgery or when operations are cancelled because of other unforseen problems such as emergencies/theatre problems (should have had mine originally in September/October).
My rant over for now

thats exactly how it is Julie, people want it yesterday, theres such a high a demand for it and this is why the wait is so long unfortunatley x

I'm probably not going to be popular for saying this but I feel really sorry for all the secretaries!!
How can they possibly do all their work if they are being phoned for dates all the time?
How can they list patients if they have constant interruptions? They are only human!!
Yes I am post-op so have had my surgery but at the time I breached the 18 week guideline - and waited nearly 3 years in total.
