I've just injected myself this morning with the 10th of my 10 daily injections :)

I've actually found it OK apart from now I have a line of bruises round my belly where I've been moving across!

thanks everyone it seems so silly i did cope at the start an then anxiety kicked in for some reason .phoned out of hours doc yesterday an they sent nurse round to support me but i had a full blown panic attack so they called docs an got them to write a chart an now they are going to come each evening to do it for me what a relief. thanks for all your support really lovey of you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've got to do mine for 10 days after op.Not looking forward to it, but i'll grin and bear it:D:D

Do all Bypasser have to have these injection?
I've never heard them mentioned before.

Just done mine, it was easy peasy:D:D

Cause I'm diabetic I got a Sharps Box from my GP.
I'm not on injections (yet) I use it to dispose of the Blood testing needles.

i had to self inject for a bit when i had DVT , I just used to do it into the fatty bit ( LOL all of me ) ... lol :p the fatty bit at the side of my tummy and it hurt a bit, the dam bruise I got hurt more though. Do I have to go through all that again ?

Gl with the self injecting it can really be hard on certain days.

p.s. I wouldnt trust my hubby with a needle near me, Ive seen him poke holes in a microwaveable meal ! * shakes head

I think the thought of injecting yourself is much worse than the actual injection I had hep injections for months after a pulmonary embolism (clot in lungs) and it didnt hurt at all and I had little bruising
As I think Anez said if you pinch a layer of fat between thumb and forefinger and just slide the needle in it doesnt hurt at all. It is only a diabetic needle very thin especially made so for regular use.
What wooses we are lol going through major surgery then being frieked by a little needle, good luck everyone.

Jay xx

I've done it twice myself now, and the weird thing is, it hurts less when I do it than when the nurses did it, even though they were gentle :D:DThe angle of it is v important though;)

Do you just have to do these post op? I have read a few people did them preop.
