this indeed does make interesting reading....i've lost lots of weight, but recently, i've been suffering the effects of a massive hernia from my original WLS....since my corrective surgery last week, i've noticed my restriction seems to be greatly increased, i feel after reading that, that my pouch and intestines had alot of extra room to move into thus allowing me to eat alot more than i should've been able to....since the surgery, my intestines have had to stay where they're meant to live, not pop out for extra room, so for me, my surgery has benefited me big time, another thing i thought about after reading this, and actually after speaking to my lil sis re her surgery, for us, the surgeon decides on the length of the intestinal bypass more than likely just n your BMI, not necessarily thinking about metabolic rates etc, it's no exact science, but a chat in their shell likes would not go amiss, to see where you go from here
