I've started so I'm going to finish......

Hi my weight loss journey started in May 2016. After being finished from work in December due to ill health I went to the doctors with anxiety and depression. Not only did she treat me for this she referred me to the specialist weight management service as she was afraid at the rate I was going I had about 10 years to live . I weighed in at nearly 22 stone, housebound and very miserable.
While with the service I was determined I was not having surgery. I was discharged a year later, May 2017.
I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea and now have a cpap machine, which I love and cannot sleep without.
It was last October I had my epiphany. I was out with a very good friend, who had a band fitted two years previous and looks amazing. She asked me why i didn't want surgery. Admitted to her I was scared. She asked me if a stroke or heart attack was less scary?
I was referred to the bariatric clinic immediately and today I am waiting for my appointment for surgery. I have been told a bed will be available in September/October. It's nearly July! Can't wait!

So today I got my pre op appointment 18th October. Another step closer. Coordinator said could be before Christmas. Let's hope so. Started this journey nearly three years ago. Would be a fabulous way to start new year

Fabulous news, such an exciting time, what a Christmas present that would be xx

How exciting. Not long until your pre-op now x

That’s fabulous news so exciting xx

Yay how exciting what a fantastic early Christmas gift xxxx

Start my liver diet tomorrow. Got my bag half packed for admission next Thursday, don't wear jimjams, slippers or dressing gowns, had to go out and buy them. The countdown starts. I'm so scared. Been so long since I started the journey. Part two starts 1st November
Sooooo exciting for you, good luck with the lrd, stock with it and stay strong, really looking forward to your updates. Oh and get used to buying clothes, I’m 6.5 month post bypass and I’ve lost count of the number of wardrobe changes I’ve had, the last 2 bin bags to go to the charity shop we’re only bought in August.....it’s mind blowing xxx

Thank you. Just been reading through your journey, it's amazing. Can't believe the weather is changing at the end of the week here and snow in the forecast. I feel like camping out in the hospital now so that I can make sure I'm in the queue lol. Did you have all these fears and doubts before hand? I've been panicking since the weekend. So excited but very anxious

Lol get a couple of cardboard boxes and you’ll be fine x I wasn’t nervous of the surgery just excited but I was anxious about food mourning, that was my biggest fear, I had lots of “food funerals” in the month leading up to my milk diet (and put a stone back on), however there’s nothing wrong with being nervous either xxx

You got this!
Nervous seem to be pretty normal. I haven’t even got an operation date & I am already anxious but it is a means to a better life!
Pj’s would be a good idea :whistle::rotflmao::whistle:
