Just waiting for surgery date

Gone through process for surgery to be approved and now have up to 3 months to wait.
Will be looking up any tips/things to do before gastric sleeve.
Have to continue losing weight and then the liver shrinkage diet before surgery, but looking forward to new stage in life after surgery.

Hi RES I'm at Homerton same as you I had all appointments apart from consultant appointment which is fri with sanjay agawal what happened at your first appointment with your consultant? Also who did you have, what type of questions did they ask you and what happens after this appointment like how long to you know you've got approval for surgery and a date for surgery. Sorry for all the questions lol x x

Sorry for delay in replying. Most of discussion was with specialist nurse. Only short time with consultant and mainly talked about different types of surgery and any differences in complication rates to help reach a decision. Second visit to consultant was after MDT meeting to put me on waiting list.
It's all gone quite quickly once you manage to get your first appointment at Homerton.

I had an appointment sent to me to see consultant. Mind you when I got there they thought I had already got date! Good luck and hope MDT gives you what you want. I think after all this the operation will be a breeze.

Hi both, I'm also starting on my WLS journey. Just been told funding has been approved, now waiting for my appointment with the Nurse Specialist next month, then I see the Surgeon 4-6 weeks later. I live in South Wales so will be having my op in Swansea. I don't do patience so the wait is killing me......

Just got my appt through for next Saturday and it sounds as if there's not too much hanging around to get things moving.

If anyone can tell me who I'm going to see and what will be discussed I can get some questions written down - on the letter it says my consultant is MsKalpania Devalia.

If it's your first appointment, you get weighed, blood pressure check, see nurse, bloods and ECG, go to seminar with nurse and dietitian, see consultant !! Expect to be there all day. Good luck with your weight loss.
