hi all,

I have been searching the net for someone to do a bypass for me as I don't think ill be straight forward as I had 2 x bands before and a wrap.

I keep coming across a website for lithuinia and it seams really nice looking and cheaper than anywhere else, has anyone been? any good or bad experiences?

thanks

oh clinic is called nord bariatiac

Just a suggestion, but as you've had three failed wls, should you be considering a really good revision surgeon based in the UK, rather than the cheapest anywhere on the planet?

I don't live in uk actually so why should I travel there! Oh and if you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all!!!

And I thought this website was to support each other not judge what one person can or can't afford. I was asking for anyone that had been or heard of the above company not looking for someone to judge me for my past choices and what I could afford at the time!!!

Hi Polly,

I had not heard of that one, but have just looked it up myself out of interest. I am doing my own research into various options (UK or abroad) whilst trying to save up money (this may be sometime!).

There are lots of providers in Europe, in France, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

If you do various different google searches trying:

"gastric band france"
"gastric bypass Czech Republic"
"gastric sleeve Belgium"

etc etc .......you will find there are lots of providers to choose from. Do look into each one carefully.

As and when someone on here mentions a new one that I have not heard of, I look that one up out of interest and bookmark it for later.

Thanks I am meeting with a surgeon tomorrow to see if the bypass can be done so fingers crossed it can.

I don't think ThinnerJemima has said anything other than to chose wisely, she is a revisioner too.

From your previous WLS experiences I'm sure you want to get it right this time and my only advice would pretty much be the same.

I hope you manage to find a surgeon that can help you, as no doubt it won't be a straightforward procedure  xx

I also agree that I don't think Jemima was judging you, however she did mistakenly assume you were in the UK. According to your location info you are in ireland - surely the UK is closer than Lithuania?

Secondly I would definitely agree to doing your research - and check the local law to ensure you have adequate protection for private surgery.

Both bands I had where a complete success it was the hospitals her in Ireland that took them out I had no other option and was to sick to fight with them the only bad choice I made was Prague and the wrap I never lost a lb.

First band I got I got in 2004 and lost 11 stone and had it for 6 years until I thought I stupidly could maintain without it.

The wrap -disaster waste of money

Then band and I was flying I was down over 6 stone and the local hospital took it out as I had a sever vomiting but and led me to believe it was only option.

Now tomorrow I am going back to where I got the band to see if they can do the bypass I only asked about Lithuania or Latvia as it kept coming up on all web searches. And I was asking in general what people thought or if anyone had been.

Of course I'd consider uk. But any agent in uk seams to send you to Europe. But again it would have to be in a reasonable price range. I'm not as Jemma said "searching the planet for the cheapest" I'm just researching my options.
