medications after gastric band

Hi,I am due to have weight loss surgery fairly soon,I wanted to have a band,but my consultant has been quite pushy in recommending that I have a sleeve,this seemed a little extreme to me for my weight which is 17 7,the reason for this was because I take tegretol medication for epilepsy,and he said that it would affect the band,has any one else had this problem,or any suggestions around this:sigh:

I've had problems since Day-Zero taking all medications with my band and bypass. Your consultant is spot on in my opinion for taking life-saving drugs. The sleeve is drastic but permanent and a much better solution.
