Hi

Just spoken to my GP who has said he needs to give an idea to the PCT where he will refer me to.

The choices are: Guys & St Thomas, Homerton, St Georges, Whitington, Chelsea &Westminster.

Does anyone know what the waiting lists are at these (gutted Chichester isn't an option!)

Thank you

Sue why didn't you just ring and ask them their waiting times for surgery and the process time to get on the waiting lists? It's all very well saying you can change your mind, but remember if you change your mind you go to the back of the queue again....

Just a thought xx

Hi Julie

I've phoned them but am getting nowhere getting through to anyone. I've left a message at the Whittington and have emailed Guys & Chelsea and Westminster.

I'm hoping to get answers before the funding application goes through so when the GP does send the final referral off it can be to the 'right' place!

the waiting list at chelsea and westminster is 6 months from being put on list ,,the time to that point varies ,due to which tests you need with each dept ,ie sleep apnea trial/test at c&w is a month,or scans , or endoscopies,i spoke to admissions yesterday and its def 6 months for people going on list now ,hope that helps ,

Thank you for that Starr.

I had to leave a message on an answerphone at The Whittington. Someone on here had already given me the info on St George's. I spoke to Homerton. The only people I can't get hold of now is, typically, Guys & St Thomas'.

Hi I am a Whittington girl I had my bypass 14 months ago. The after care there is absolutely amazing and the team is there one hundred percent to support u before And after. I have been one of the very few people who have complications post op and the treatment I have had at the Whittington is has been excellent, hope that helps u xxx

Thank you Roch - & wow, you're looking good x

Thank you again Starr. It sounds like the London hospitals have good care plus St Thomas' is quite easy to get to from here. So fingers crossed a not too bad a waiting list there - assuming I get referred AND the team take me on. Not too many hoops to jump through then!

Just had a chat with a lovely woman at the Whittington. If I had funding approved I could have had a first appointment on Thursday!

She said they are looking at about a year but that includes applying for funding and all assessment appointments and then going on the doctors list.

Food for thought

OK, now spoken to Guys - the first appointment they have there is in October!

Just rung the GP to change referral to the Whittington but they said the referral letter has gone off today. I can't see why the GP can't cancel that and re-refer elsewhere as nothing 'counts' until funding in place.

Give Lorna a call back at the Whittington she has powers lol :) tell her Rochelle Moss says she has super wls powers lool :) maybe she could help u and get the referral back to the Whitt, i had major probs in the beginning of my wls journey and she was a gods send to me and truly helped me sort things out so many times.
