newbie... what happens next?

Hi, i was referred to Sunderland by my doctor last week and i have recieved an appointment for September, it says this is a group session, what is this? and what will happen when i get there? Also will i get told at this appointment if i qualify for any surgery or is that decission along way off?

This is the seminar you'll see mentioned lots on here. There's a discussion on the types of surgery, risks, etc. and usually one or two who have already had sometyhing done will be there to talk to you. There's a chance for questions as well. You're also weighed and height measured at this appointment and this is used as your starting weight. The whole thing lasted about 1&1/2hr to 2hrs when I was there September 09.
