Hi Mixman, can i ask...Did you have any problems with mobility before you started losing weight? I have difficulty walking and have to do it in short bursts. Was hoping you could give me abit of hope, i would love to be able to go on long walks with my dogs. Well done so far x

I love walking, i have 3 greyhound dogs & i'm very lucky to live close to epsom downs race course so i spend about 2 hours a day walking the dogs over there, It's all surrounded by fields, farm land & a golf course it's just amazing because it so high the view's are great & can see right over London....Hope you & your family continue to enjoy your walks:)

Well done mixman

I to took up walking post op as a way to increase my fitness, we did family walks locally around Kent of about 4 or 5 miles every Sunday morning, i enjoyed it so much that my distances started increasing and now i climb and walk up mountains for fun, something i definately couldn't do pre op.

Well done and do keep the walking up, its great for you.

can not beat a good walk and there it lots of lovely places. I also had probs before my op getting out of breath and such but not now no stopping me

Sarah four and a half months ago I couldn't walk through our town centre without having to sit on every bench I could see and was always in extreme pain. Now a short time down the line I am walking between five and ten miles a day.

I'm still in pain, its no good denying that, but I keep pushing myself and can do it.

The only problems with my motibility before was trying to get my ass out of the door :D

No, seriously, I didn't really have problems moving but, when I did, i knew about it. My right knee used to hurt and I had to have a support on it if I 'over did' it a bit. Because of this I used to make excuses not to walk. Always excuses excuses.

Now, as of 5 weeks ago, I had lost 4 stone (The equivalant of carrying a 55lb sack of potatos around on your back all the time) my knee is so much better, I don't need the support and I love it. My legs do still tire, I won't deny it, but the rest of my body wants to continue. It's just not physically possible at the moment.

It gets better and better, believe me xx

Well done on the walks mixman. I've never heard of any of these places and I only live in Rotherham. I'm so sad I never went out before and only go out with Jake (horse) now. I'm going to have to give myself a kick up the jacksie and explore more lolx

Thanks bonita, i'm glad to hear about how you've improved, i understand where you are coming from, i have to sit down every few minutes whilst out in the town, but thankyou for letting me know there are good times to come, hopefully x
