Hey all I'm 6 weeks post op toady and I'm not well :(
some of you may have seen the thread I posted the other day about having pain on the left side behind my ear into my shoulder & back?
Well on Sunday night I was in tears with pain I could hardly breath but I managed to stay at home to take my son to school then after dropping him I went straight to A&E they we're really quick at seeing me they took bloods but didn't give the results. How ever my urine showed Keaton's and I was dehydrated. I'm still having all the pain which they say has been caused by the way I've slept? But what I don't understand is why have I been having nausea and when I ate yesterday Tuna with Cheese I got sick but it was just white bubbles that came out?
I'm still feeling sick but have managed half a tin of soup the whole day while sipping on water.
I spoke with my team and all they said was have you seen your GP? & what did they say?!
What do you guys think??

hun the keatones i had in my urine too, that just means your body is burning fat so that is good, dont worry about that... the dehydration is a very important issue though... im 6 weeks post op to the reason i bring this up is...
week one and two i was only drinking about 250ml a day, due to this i got dehydrated and got a very nasty water infection, ended up back in hospital and after 3 weeks and 5 different types of antibiotic, im now finaly at the end of it... but due to the infection i now have blood in my urine so ive got to see a bladder specialist next week.
The reason im telling you this is...please keep up your fluids... the hospital told me as long as you drink NO LESS than 1ltr (1000ml) a day then that is ok... so please drink hun and keep the fluids going... decaf tea/coffee/nas squash/ice pops/ write it all down.
Dehydration will make you feel nauseus and will make you lose your appetite, and also it will stop you keeping foods down x
Hope you dont think im telling you off... just wanted to say how important fluids are... i hate drinking anththing, but i learnt a big lesson.
Big Hugs hun xxx

Thank you hun I've been drinking around 1200 a day if not then deffo 1000mls . I feel so tired and I'm shivering . I'm waiting for my husband to get home so he can put the little ones to bed. He should be home in 40mins. thanks for your advise hun. think I'll see my GP in the morning xxx

definately see the GP hun, i had the shivers with my water infection.. your drinking enough hun... but if you were drinking less before then that would make you poorly... rest up hun and let us knowhow you get on at the docs xx

if you remember Rayne i was shivering and cold every day too and ended up with blood in my urine so definitely drinking is so important , a little tip is if you pinch the back of your hand and the skin stays raised then you are de hydrated it was the hospital that told me this xx take care Cathykats :)

Hi cathykats

Try not to worry too much about vomiting white bubbles. In the early stages after my op (sleeve) I vomited what I can only describe as white froth and also lots of thick saliva. I'm sure that's fairly normal.
Hope you're now feeling much better :)

Xx

You need to know the results of the blood tests, im sure if they had found an infection they would have put you on antibiotics. My doctor has strips in his office to pee on and they tell him if ive got an infection. Ask if they have any. Phone the hospital tomorrow and see if you can find out results.
A urine infection can make you feel shocking
Hope you feel better soon

Aw Cathy, hon ... sorry you feel so ill. :wave_cry: I felt pretty much like this when I had a kidney infection but also had really bad lower back pain. Do see your GP asap so he can diagnose you ... hugs to you, lovely xxx :)

Hi Cathy,

Sorry to hear you are unwell. When you see your GP tomorrow they may well be able to see the results of your blood test. I know my doctor has access to the UCH plus the local hospitals (Barnet and Finchley) and can see the blood test results. I am not a doctor but sounds very much like a kidney/urine infection from the symptoms. Your GP should be able to do a urine test and let you know pretty quick whether it is a kidney or urine infection. I hope you get it sorted soon. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers,

Hello all thank you for your well wishes! :)

I'm finally home I was taken into A&E last Tuesday night as I got a lot worse as the night went on and my temp was 40.
The ambulance staff gave me morphine for the pain.
I was given a CT scan where they found a leak at the top of my sleeve.
I was taken to theatre on Friday morning where they used Tissell glue to fix the leak.
I was on a drip and all sorts of tablets to get rid the infection.
I started eating soup yesterday and kept it down so the have let me home with a follow up appointment for next week.
I am feeling alot better and thank you all again for your well wishes.
much love Cathy xxxxxxxxxxx
