OMG...Will I be ok,I swallowed chewing gum by accident!! HELP

I'd just like to say i believed we couldn't have chewing gum because it stimulated gastric juices which in turn could lead to stomach ulcers....

aah right, thanks julie, yeah if you think about it, most of any juices we get are in the other half of the stomach arnt they, we dont seem to get any in the pouch, well i dont think i do anyway. thanks julie again, hugs xx

oh this made me chuckle because having stuck rigidly to my preop diet, I was chewing some gum on the way to be admitted and I swallowed it! Literally 200 yards from the hospital and I had swallowed my gum! I was horrified, and felt sure it would be floating around in my stomach or jump out at the surgeon when he cut me open
