Peoples reactions once you have lost weight

I have pretty much got used to people staring at me when out (particularly in cafe's etc) but other than that I feel almost invisible at times. I get ignored in queues, i speak and it's as if I was silent etc etc. (could of course be paranoid;))

I'm really interested to know from post oppers - did people treat you differently once you had lost the weight?

Thanks

Sharon

I haven't noticed any difference. I suspect it's a self esteem issue. If you feel and act confident you get treated accordingly? Some people don't feel confident overweight.

I find people treat me very differently.

I was always obscenely confident, albeit it was a front. But a very convincing one! I notice now that people are more willing to talk to me now, to sit by me on the bus, etc. people definitely shied away before I lost weight, though I was never especially bothered. Idiots will always be idiots but we can change our outlook :) I do note a LOT of people when they lose a lot of weight become VERY rude about big people.

I have definitely noted a difference in a positive way. Now people hold open the door and strangers smile and say hello, just seeing me I suppose. The lighthearted social flirting is a little bit strange to know how to responds to as men certainly didn't do that before! But hey after being married for 16 years I'm not complaining!

Exactly! Suddenly men are just kinder. And I don't really know whether I'm imagining it or not!

Oh I agree; when I was fat I was invisible. Now people notice me. For people read men ;)

I agree!! Definitely have seen a big attitude change...

People don't stare at me any more and sit next to me on the bus and train. There is a big difference. I suspect it will show even more as I get smaller.

i feel different in myself in as much as im more comfortable now, i was confident anyway i think. my friends and family treat me the same, i just seem to blend in with strangers now which has been odd to realise. i havent noticed men acting any different really, i thought i might get chatted up more on nights out but i actually think its less

How interesting. I find that any contact with men I have, who don't already know me, very quickly leads to them telling me some detail about their wife or girlfriend as if they are sort of warning me off rofl. I had to call a plumber who before he even asked what the problem is started a really random conversation about his wife and her job lol. I wouldn't have touched him with a bargepole anyway. I really hope this stops when I am slim.
