Has anyone noticed a difference with their TOTMs post-bypass? I am having my first post-op and it is um, darker and lighter in flow.

Not noticed my are the same post op as pre op and are still on time My painters turned up this morning lol

Lol! Teen! It's prolly because I am perimenopausal. Pity Mr. Khan couldn't have taken me box out at the same time.

PMSL Red!!! :D
I had the painters in last week and mine was really weak and light for me Im used to gloss not matt!!! :8855:

Yep, definitely. From not having a period for about 6 months prior to my op I started off as regular as clockwork just after my op. Unfortunately, it's all gone a bit haywire since and I've probably only had 10 'period free' days since January :(
Been to GP and also to the hospital for an ultrasound but they can't find anything wrong so far. Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems post bypass or is it just the weight loss?

its not just bypassers hun im a bander and mine went up the swanny post op i bled for 4 weeks and they have been changing everymonth some more painfull always heavy only improvment seems to be pmt has got better

my came 3 days post op - 11 days early, was a lil heavier than usual.

Just to say those of you if any that use the instant heatpads. Home Bargins had them in last week pack 3 for 49p its says IBS but are great for TOM's thye last hours. I use them regularly for my arthritis

Ive seen that in the States they sometime prescribe an estrogen Patch for post surgery WLS patients....they reckon it sorts out problems with periods....estrogen is stored in body fat and as we loose fat quickly it puts ourhormone levels up the creek...I have a mirena coil and don't really get periods possibly 1 a year Until the day of my surgery when the first one in a year turned up...the surgeon said it happens a lot due to the hormone imbalance caused by quick wight loss....people on Atkins get it to (I remember this from a prior Atkins diet and threads at that time)

Other than that don't know of a solution sorry:(

My periods are just the same: i.e. heavy, lumpy, ten days and painful for about 5 days. I saw the gyneacologist last year and after tests I was told it was my age and my weight causing the problems. So hopefully the weight side of things will improve as I lose it and maybe make them a bit better. The age bit though...anyone got any Elixir of Life?

I have found mine have reduced significantly in duration, and intensity. I don't have any pain now, where i used to be in agony, the flow is much much lighter, and it only lasts for 4 days instead of 7/8.

I have noticed that taking the iron supplements daily has had a big effect.

I never had post operative injections so i can't put it down to them.

My periods initially got much more painful and heavier, for about the first 6 months. They then started to settle down. Now though, I've found the solution ;)
