Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has had helped or has done anything about posture post weight loss and what did you do? any ideas would be great.

Thanks

If you have a posture problem Rose what is it? Do you mean a general stooping, or is your spine curved or do you stand crookedly? For general posture improvement if it is not a physical deformity, then Pilates is a good overall exercise that definitely helps improve your general posture, also yoga is something that you could look into..
Hope this helps xxx

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do reformer Pilates and have done for the past year. I have never had issues with posture until I got pregnant and gained the weight. need to seriously improve it as it causes me so much trouble with my back. just wondering if anyone uses braces etc. I have typical pregnancy stance and arch my back too much. I also seem to be developing a slight hump. it's blizzard for me as I used to do a lot of ballet and horse ride.

A few sessions with an MSK physiotherapist can sort out any posture/gait issues people have. The two often come hand in hand.

A msk physio? I am not familiar with that acronym.

I have attended chartered physios and found they made my back ten times worse. I have had an mri now and have my appointment with the orthopaedic specialist on the 20 th.

A musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Your GP practice should have a self referral scheme or you can ask for a referral. It's probably something higher up or lower down causing your back pain. Back pain is usually very difficult to treat.

I live in Ireland where the healthcare system is very different. My gp surgery does not have details and I have not managed to find any in my area.

Will just have to wait and see what the orthopaedic specialist says next week.
