Hi I had to do it for 7 days, I cut down to 1000cals 2 weeks before so when it come to the milk and yoghurt diet I wouldnt find it so bad and............ It wasnt that bad obviously it was hard when the family was eating etc but its well worth it and it gives you a start on your weight loss.
The 3pts of milk and 2 yoghurts a day diet does get easier i promise and yeah it is to reduce the size of your liver and to reduce the amount of fatty tissues around the liver.
Mr Ackroyd does the op by keyhole surgery therefore your liver needs to be free from fatty deposits around it,or unfortunately like me he wont complete the operation.
Dont panic i am one of the minority, but it does happen, but it is frightening to think how bad it must have been before the diet..
fed up glad the link was of use. as i said in it upping your water intake is the key to not being hungry in the first few days. My energy levels were fantastic and have remained so since my up.
wishing you a easy pre op and a speedy recovery.

i just had to do a low fat different surgeons are different dr debruyne said its not a big concern for him if your livers fatty he just does an extra hole and hes never not operated on someone due to fatty liver. i chose to do a low fat high protien and zero carb diet i was bad for the first week but good as gold for 6 days and he said my liver was good. it was easy to do as well but your best following the advice of your surgeon as some can be fussy lol
my pre op was 4 pints of milk and one suger free jelly a day but you can put sugar free crusha in the milk really helps kills for first few days then ok after that and the lbs drop off while your on it
Apparently my surgeon is quite strict on the milk & Yogurt diet, he really believes in it, so the clinical nurse specialist said. I'll give it a go, but can imagine it will be hard.
