The Last Supper!

Fading Grace

Fading Away
So May 6th will be my last day of solid food for 2 months or so. I am not going to go berserk with overeating like crazy before my Op, BUT I do want to have one, delicious last supper. Chinese is my big downfall so it will probably be that (and some cheesecake possibly?)

What was the last meal you ate before your op? (Sorry if someone else has already done a thread like this but I haven't seen it)

LOL Snap....On the chinese and cheesecake!

When I was given my dates for surgey and the milk diet, I decided to eat like crazy too lol

On the 3rd April 2012 I started my milk diet for 2 weeks...and the 17th April I had my surgery....

BUT...
On the 1st April I went for a eat-as-much-as-you-like Chinese with friends....But ironically I didnt eat as much as I thought I would, as I think my mind was already adapting.
Then on the 2nd April, the day before I started my milk diet, I just had a lasagna and salad, and a small cheesecake for pudding....

So they were my last two big meals :)

Aww bless your lil' cotton socks! Yeah, it's strange, but I have lost my appetite big time since I got the news on my Op date. It will be a shame not to have one last good meal, but I have butterflies in my tummy the whole time. Eating dinner tonight was a struggle!

Haha you lil' nutter! :p You will go to ALL of those places?
God, I love TGI Fridays I haven't been for ages because too fat to sit in the booths! :8855:
I used to get a fab Oreo's cookie cocktail from there.. and the Jack Daniels dipping sauces *Drools*

Well we can support one another once we both start the milk diet so that's good!

Enjoy what ever it is but life after is different but you can still enjoy Chinese just not all types
I had a band and my main thing was salad I missed could never eat it but Chinese would work but very small amounts nandos never worked sad but I learnt to live without it my only tip is on purreed foods purée each one then they retain the flavour or it ends up like soup all tastes the same sorry to go on but good luck

That Jack Daniels sauce is to die for...I'll definitely be visiting TGI's before I start my milk diet.
Em xx

I'd eaten crap for many years and had so many last suppers that when I had my pre op medical assessment and saw how heavy I was I took the specialists advice and from that point I cut down my crap and total food intake to give me a better chance of survival so I didn't do the last supper ritual, getting on and off the table was more important to me

Very true Karlos...
Like you I didn't do the last supper thing, just got on with the Pre op diet that lasted 4 weeks.
I just feel you aren't doing yourself any favours by doing the last supper thing x

The sad reality is however you are more than likely be the minority on this one. I really don't think one more meal prior to commencement of pre op diet will have such an effect upon surgery that they wouldn't operate?! Risking it during pre op is another matter however and must never be advocated!

I also did not do it as I saw it as just more weight to loose afterwards!!!
It was all those 'just one mores' that got me to where I am...
I am on milk diet and have op on Saturday 28th...

One more monster meal before surgery may not have any effect on surgery.
It's a risk I'm wasn't going to take,
But to me it's about getting mentally ready for
Your new way of eating, which is eating a lot more healthy and much much less amounts, having a last meal in my eyes just makes it harder for yourself x

Whilst I do agree with you to a point, I did decide to go to TGI's with my hubby for one last meal together because I wanted him to have a lovely evening with me, knowing that we wouldn't be eating there again for a long time, if ever! Funnily enough I too did not seem to have much of an appetite and ate far less than I would normally have done. I think my brain is starting to accept that a new "me" is on the horizon at long last and I'm feeing good about it. :)

i expect i'll have a chinese one night, kfc another night, McDonalds another night, then pizza, well you get the drift :D

Mine was skate & chips with all the trimmings & a 1/2 bottle of Chilean merlot. Naught but soooo nice. Funny I don't want to eat it now post op.

I'm sure the 'new you' will be you very soon too,and also the lovely meals with your hubby will still happen even after surgery.
I'm a bypasser and I can go out and have a salad based meal.
No pudding!..lol
I don't feel as though I've missed out and feel much better knowing I'm eating healthy.

My op is on the 6th May as well, and I have been on the pre-op diet for the last week. I did have a binge the few days before I started the preop diet, but am totally focused now. Even went to Nando's and watched my husband have a scrummy meal while I had a small bowl of frozen yogurt, it has paid off tho cause I have lost 8" to date - roll on the 6th.
