Bless you. I had a laparoscopy back in 2004 and remember the wind afterwards! I am only 3 days away form my band op so will be joining the wind instruments very soon!!! Can't wait.

Hi - not as bad as I thought they would be, had two pre surgery and the nurse was a bit brutal with them.

My OH is diabetic so my fallback was to ask him to do them if I couldnt manage!

I am so excited. Can't believe how much you have lost already with pre op and band. I have lost 9lb in 7 days which is good I know but other have lost lodes in the past.

9lb in 7 days is fantastic! remember though its all about shrinking that liver - I was so paranoid mine would be too huge but everything was fine.

mazza i was not given a choice, lmao he took the opportunity to insist on pampering me, something i have not had masses of in this life, much more now with him. I will get my own back when he has his op next year.

We are now discusssing Egypt for our holiday, around the red sea.... i am not so sure its what i want but i am keeping an open mind as i wont get the snorkling at a lot of places due to the water being too cold

Know what you mean, my OH has been really looking after me since the op, my ex husband would of just left me to it.

My oh (jim) was considering a band too but he says seeing how I was post op has put him off. I take some time for my oxygen to get back to normal - always have. I hope I can pursuade him to have it - is Jonah having a bypass too?

Eygypt will be lovely, something to look forward to.

yes he i looking at a bypass as well, so he knows everything i have gone through, however unlike me he has a very large frame and was told he would never be under 15 stone because of it, he doesnt have as much to lose as me, but he has enough that he needs to lose and realises this, just a matter of getting the finances in place/saved for.

Same as my OH he is 6ft and a large build, he looks pretty fine around the 16 stone mark. I have known him since he was 6, he joined the army at 16 and when he left piled the weight on. When we started going out he was around 25 stone. Hard to believe now but when he moved in with me the weight dropped off.


Gradually with me though he has gone back up to around 20 stone.
