waiting for wls

Hope it comes good for you soon and that op is on thecards for you. Knees are a real bummer, the op will help with the weight loss but doesn't necessarily provide a cure. However it does mean that you are fighting fit to leap on that operating table if they suggest surgical intervention for those knees in the future. Now my weight has all gone and plastics done knees figure large on my agenda so I'll let you know how it goes at the time

good luck

M

update

well where do i start the bad news first
ive had a bad weekend food wise
been on my own mostly all weekend as 1 son and hubby were away at a rugby thing theyre not back till tonight
it all started on friday had a long lie wanted to watch the wedding on tv so got settled down on sofa and because i didn't want to miss anything i thought id make a sandwich bad idea because i was doing it for quickness i didnt make a good choice chicken salad with a dash of mayo thought id have a few crisps on the side as well noooo ended up eating 2 packets then i thought il have a cuppa ...oh look theres a bit cake i'l just have that 2 and so it went on everyday something happened to make me make stupid choices a griegs sausage roll on sat half bottle wine on sat and nothing but rubbish yesterday guess it was because i thought no one will know as im on my own ........but i know how stupid i have been
so this morning i am back on the straight and narrow
fingers crossed
i have been keeping busy so to keep temptation away if i can get through today ok, the rest of week will be ok as i will be back at work and everyone will be back so no chance of just helping myself to anything
sorry for the rant needed to get it off my chest

update on appointment with dietician

have been to my next appointment with the dietician and was good news all round have lost another 2 kilos so both her and myself were well pleased then it was down to the nitty gritty what would happen now
this was the bit i was worried about (have had a fear if i started losing weight on the xenical they would say well done just keep doing that ) anyway she said that i was on course to move forward to getting surgery if thats what i wanted
almost pleaded with her that it was asked her if there was anyway i wouldnt get put forward for surgery and she said that as i had completed everything so far ie lost 5% of my weight had compleated 3 months at my local dietician and i just needed to complete the 6 months at this level so it looks like i will be put forward to the surgeons list at the begining of august unless i change my mind (no way thats going to happen )just need to keep doing what im doing and losing weight to show i am committed and start reducing my portion size she says it will help for when i get the surgery so have another appointment with her in 4 weeks just to keep tabs on what is happening
so i will have great news for my practice nurse when i see her as she has been a great support to me all through this
thanks for letting me ramble on but so excited had to tell you all :D

dietitian appointment

well had my monthly appointment today and lost another 4lbs so things are looking good to being put on the surgeons list in august so fingers crossed everything keeps going to plan have another appointment with my practice nurse in 2 weeks and another one with the dietician inn 4 weeks im hopeing that she will say that i am on the list from them so hopefully i will be able to update you all later

Everything crossed for you x x

Great news Pauline, I was banded this week at the Nuffield in Glasgow, not NHS as I couldnt get my doctor to take me seriously. But wish you all the very best, do you know what procedure you are considering? x

hoping for a bypass but i will take whatever they sugest

how are you feeling after getting your band

Mentally I feel amazing that I did it as I was so scared before but not looking forward to the credit card bill!! Physically the wounds are a bit sore (to be expected) but otherwise feel pretty good. Finding it hard to sit still and let myself recover but realise I have to just cant wait to get back on my feet and into my new slimmer life. Like you had a few health issues, I have fibromyalgia and probs with my joints which is the main reason for my decision though the idea of looking nicer appeals too! Look forward to hearing more of your story as you go on. x x x

update

went for my monthly meeting with the dietician this morning and i put on a kg i was a bit concerned but she said not to worry as i had still lost way over what she had expected so i had a huge sigh of relief
she asked how i was feeling and if i still wanted to go down the road of surgery told her yes this was still very important to me she then said that she was refering me to the surgeons list had to ask her to repeat what she had just said couldnt believe my ears
told me that i was discharged from her monthly meetings but recommended that i still keep my fortnightly appoinment with my practice nurse to get my weight recorded as well as keep on with the xenical in the hope to keep the weight coming down even if it is slow as it shows that i am determind to follow it through
she said there has been a slight delay with the surgeons as people she referred in April were only just getting their appoinments through for August so she reckoned i would be around November then there would be another batch of meetings to be attended but at least i now know im going to get the surgery
it wasnt till i got back to the car that it sunk in and i just burst into tears sat there for ages weeping like a loony
even now it feels strange
want to shout from the roof tops :D yipee
still not sure what happens next - appointment wise will just have to wait on my letter dropping though the letter box and take it one step at a time
can just about see the end of the tunnel now ...:D

update

been to my practice nurse today for my weigh in and she informed me that they had recieved a letter that i was to attend the bariatric surgery team seminar on the 7th Oct :bliss:she phoned them to find out what was involved and that i would have 2x 45 min session that day at my local hospital where they would go through things but also i would have to attend 6 sessions over a twelve week period and that all going well surgery would be penciled in for March 2012
