Basically I've had trapped wind since the op. Not slept well because of the busyness of the hospital really but after being sick last night I slept like a baby! I am struggling with getting fluids down as I said in a previous thread, so we'll see what today brings. -Anyone elses experience similar?

Hello, although being sick prob wasn't very nice for you I'm sure it was a relief to be rid of the trapped wind and getting lots of sleep is sure to make you feel better and help your recoevery. Good luck in your weight loss. xxx

Hope your feeling better LBG - would a straw help or would that also trap wind?

I was sick a couple of times on Friday night and again on the saturday but it will get better, I am drinking out of a sports bottle and before I drink from it I make sure that the pop is at the mouth piece and just take small sips. The dissovable paracetamol also made me sick and have stopped these and am using 6+ sugar free calpol and am finding it easier. The fluids have got a bit easier as I am taking smaller regular sips HTH

Sorry to hear you have been so sick ladybird I suppose it is the trapped wind causing it.
LOL I was talking about the wind problems with my family last week, and my son remembered after I had been very ill after having my gallbladder out and got home just before a christmas time and had some christmas dinner and belched so loud and long I choked myself lol He said it was one of the weirdest things he had ever heard, amazing what kids remember, hes 38 now!! and was 9 then.
Anyway as terri says drinking from a sports bottle probably helps keep the wind from accumulating and hope this problem doesnt last too long for you or terri

Hi Hun

I suffered really bad with trapped wind, it was the only pain I had!! I found that it was due to all the air they pump into you, and I got very very bad constipation and this did not help the trapped wind. Try gripe water, and if you can or need to, go to the toilet! My trapped wind went after 2 weeks when I finally went to the loo! Hope things improve! x

Thanks to all the suggestions. I have felt better today thank goodness. Still belching but it does ease. Whilst in WM i had peppermint syrup to help, and bless them they have given me a bottle in my 'goody bag' that my husband collected today. I think I'll get a sports bottle as suggested. Also just sipping water really and not trying to have too much and moving about. Lets hope for a better night tonight and better day tomorrow. MMmmmwwahh to all. xxxx

Good luck doll xx

Have you tried sipping warm (not hot) green tea.

I havent had my op yet but have a lot of digestive probs and one of the things I do is to sip a vanilla green tea (no milk or sugar). I get it in Lidl and it does help to break down wind. Also ginger tea is meant to be good I think too.
