Good luck and welcome stabs .. I'm not a diabetic but am bypass day 12 post op. Not too long for your op now hun . Stick to everything your provider lays down for you and you will be just fine

out of interest, I know type 2 diabetes can be halted by weight loss .... is it the same for type 1?

Yes and no appears to be the answer to the type 1 question. If you have taken insulin for less than 10 years a very good chance 10 to 15 alot less over 15 very unlikely.
Having spoken with the diabetic nurses in leeds they dont seem to know of any others type 1s who have had it done in Leeds.

Good luck hun. My op is the 9th. How's the pre op going? It can be tough in the first few days but hang in there it does get easier xxx
