Hiya.
I had the RNY done about 6 years ago and got down to just under 10 stone and life was great. However, about 3 years ago I lost ALL restriction. I have gained over 6 stones. What are the possible revision options?
Any information desperately welcomed!
Thanks

Thanks for that. I have spoken to the bariatric team at Walsall Manor, but they seemed to dismiss the fobi ring. Any other options?? Can an RNY be revised to a DS or sleeve????

Thanks all

There is only one surgeon in the UK who offers the fobi ring. His opinion will probably differ considerably to Walsall Manor. A quick search in the "Search" field on this site brings up all previous posts about the "fobi" ring and a few people who have had it:

As to your other questions, re can an RNY be revised to a sleeve or DS.

1. It is technically possible (although extremely difficult) to take down the pouch, reconnect the original stomach to the esophagus, and create a new sleeve from there but ......weight loss is likely to be LESS than with the original RNY.

2. It is possible to do the above ^^^ and then re-route the lower intestine to create a DS ...... which is again *extremely* complex.

I am not aware of any surgeons in the UK who offer that. Have heard of a *few* (very few) in the US who do that but at an extremely high price.
