one week today post gastric bypass

Cottage Pie, Shepherds Pie, Tuna Fish Pie, Beef in Ale pie - made batches of them in ramekins and froze them; Add cheese to the top when you reheat in the oven. The Chicken pie sounds nice - wish I'd thought of that.

    Slow weight loss

I understand perfectly where you're coming from... I'm often comparing myself with others who were bypassed at the same time and yes, hand on heart, it would have been great to have lost another stone by now. But I know from experience I lose weight slowly (underactive thyroid and PCOS), so I'm...

    Post Op Hospital Check up

Hi, I go to Sunderland for a check up on the 22nd July. Have only had one phone call from them to check on progress since the op in Feb; so this will be the first face-to-face contact. What usally happens at these appointments? I guess they will weigh me, but do they do any bloods, etc?

The only people who will understand!!

ooh and sat on a (wait for it) ...... folding chair .... at the caravan site a couple of weeks ago for the first time ever! Even got up out of it without it coming with me... ;0D

The only people who will understand!!

My Little Victories: I have had to move my car seat forward 3 inches. I got my seatbelt fastened on the plane in May - a bit of tugging was involved, but it fastened! Also, I sat (rather I felt like I slinked into) an M&S restaurant chair with someone in the chair behind me!!! wooooo hooo...

one week today post gastric bypass

I lived on blitzd casseroles and soup, with a blob of Smash - tasted ok but not nice to look at - like something the cat had brought up. OH had casseroles that weren't blitzd - I was very jealous! Sooo glad when I was on the crispies... I had ryvita thins with my unblitzd soup.

    Slow weight loss

I agree... you're doing brilliantly! Sounds like what you are doing is working really well for you. We all know surgery is not quick fix and the weight won't come off magically overnight - which is what I keep telling myself every morning ;0) Last week was the first week that I'd put on...

    Saggy thighs....

Guess I'll have to tone the muscle up as much as I can and save up for the surgery in a couple of years time - I'm more paranoid about my thighs than my upper arms, tummy or boobs.

    Saggy thighs....

I've noticed that since I've dropped 4 stone I'm getting paranoid about my thighs particularly the inner thigh. They used to be solid fat, now they are getting to be 'soft fat' and are starting to wobble more than I'd like. Also getting crepey skin. Can anyone recommend an exercise that...

how do you know you're full?

Like Paula, I lose interest in what I'm eating. If I continue to eat I get nauseous and uncomfortable pressure about mid-chest area.

When do you start to feel normal?

just like to say congratulations to all who are currently recovering from the surgery and I hope that you don't have too much of a rough ride through the first couple of weeks. I think I have been very lucky as things have been smooth sailing so far... Sunderland had us on water the day of...

    SRH ENDOSCOPY

Yup - everytime they see you they weigh you at Sunderland. Also very strict on weight gain. They're okay if you've stayed the same, but dont like you to put on more than 1kg.

    ENDOSCOPY,SEDATION OR SPRAY

I had both on first endo as I was also having balloon inserted and overnight stay. On balloon removal I only had the spray and I wished I'd had light sedation too... coz I'm a wuss...

to treat or not to treat...

My treats are costume jewellery, nail polish, magazines, etc instead of food. That's not to say that I haven't tried them - but I've found that I dump on sweet or fatty foods (YAY!) so will steer clear of them for now. Even yogurts sometimes make me feel nauseous. I'm ok with fruit so a small...

    Failed Pre-op.

Sunderland are strict. I had to get to my 'fighting weight' - ie what I was at the last weigh-in before my pre-op as I'd put on over the Xmas holidays. Have a go at the pre-op diet to give you a boost - Sunderland said I only needed to do 10 days but I did mine for 18 and I lost 10lbs.

    Feeder or not

Does overfeeding your cat count... our molly's belly is nearly touching the floor - she says she has short legs but I think its too many dreamees. On the other hand my OH is getting slightly less food than he used to as I started reducing the amount I make after I ran out of tupperware -...
