BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Tranquil, So it was your first surgery and not a revision (which what I initially thought). I hope you get to the bottom of what happened in surgery. I'm just surprised that the surgeon or his team did not fully explain what happened to you before you were discharged. You are quite right to...

BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

Hi Tranquil, I've not been on the forum much lately so forgive me if you've already explained this elsewhere. Have you got a band over a failed bypass or were you never bypassed at all? If it's a BOB (band over bypass) then you still have the benefit of shortened intestines.

    Bodybugg

There is an UK equivalent of the bodybugg. It's called the Ki-fit system. Google ki fit performance. It's actually by the same makers of the US GoFit wear system, which is often mentioned on US WLS sites. I bought a Ki fit system on offer several months ago for £139 and that came with two months...

    A soya mince (TVP) revelation

Oh yeah, still in love with soya mince. The dry kind. Yep, freezing the TVP porridge works well. I added extra soya milk and reheated a portion. Too much extra soya milk as it turned out so to thicken the mess I made of the the porridge I added a scoop of my favourite vanilla protein powder...

    A soya mince (TVP) revelation

Oh wow, I am simply quite taken by soya mince. Never thought I'ld say that. So, a few weeks ago I picked up a couple of boxes of dry soya mince (Textured Vegetable Protein =TVP) hoping to increase my protein options. Didn't touch it until today. For breakfast, I had a Total 0% greek...

Multionta probiotic multivits 3 for 2 at Tescos

The first thing that came into my mind was "he had NHS surgery, how come he's not on prescription vits?" Then I thought if you are paying the prescription charge £7.20 per item ( and sometimes GP's only write out the month's supply), then it seems worthwhile to spend your money elsewhere. I just...

How much is to much post op

In additions to the explanation about liquids emptying from the pouch fairly quickly, it is sometimes also advised that in the early days you follow the volume guidelines given by your bariatric team (some do and others don't). So usually you start with say 1oz (fluid) at a time - add a bit more...

    salford/spire patients..advice needed HELP!!

Hi Emma Louise, I was done at Salford but it's been a while now, well nearly 8 months ago. That was also the time Salford were bringing in the one stop stuff so I am not too familiar with the process now. However from being seen by the Consultants Drs New/Syed to operating room was just under...

Anyone up for doing the 5 day pouch test next week

Count me in for a Monday start (err, that's tomorrow folks). I'm starting to see myself slide into a carb cycle and I'ld like to kick that monster to the kerb before it gets a grip. I'm sorta looking forward to the all liquids stage because then I can indulge in my favourite protein concoction -...
