Blues Banding....

Wow well done you!! That's absolutely amazing!!! I bet your over the moon! How are your wounds looking? I didn't get bandages or steri strips just glue , I have a docs appointment later as I think the main one may be infected and they don't know I've had a band so that will be interesting! Anyway just had to reply because I'm really happy for you xx

Thanks Fizz...

Wounds look good...I can see the smaller ones not being noticeable after a few months as they are so small (1cm)....the bigger one, where the port is...I will give about 6 months to a year, then if the port hasnt moved and everythings going ok...I may get a tattoo there ;)

That's such a good idea!! My port wound is a little infected but got some cream today which has made it feel so much better already xx

oh I hope the cream helps :)

I bloody done my calculations wrong...feel like a narna...Ive lost 18lbs not 24lbs :(....Oh well its off me, so im still pleased!

Anyways ive been thinking of a tattoo of a gothic type door, hidden amongst flowers like a hidden garden door...over my port lol

Not feeling my best today. Having a fibromyalgia flare since yesterday....it was milder yesterday but horrid today. With a nice headache to go with it.

Just lazing about the house in a dressing gown....neck is all jarred up and muscles ache. I feel some nausea too :(....and loads of wind in my belly.

Ive had my weetabix this morning, then some soup for lunch....but what my mind wants to do is pig out as im poorly, but I couldnt even if I tried....as I cant eat much anyhow...So Im just gonna watch some TV, play games online, and sulk till something gives in my body!

Did however get some good news in the post....

My FIRST FILL APPOINTMENT - is the 22nd May 2012 :)

Check us out lol! I hope they give me a good fill (sounds so wrong) I'm feeling hungry quicker at the moment, the swelling must have gone down! Two weeks ago today I had my band, feels ages ago xx

Lets hope you get a good filling then lol pmsl

Im one week behind you - yesterday was my week since surgery.

Im feeling more hungry now and then, although I think its my mind rather than my actual hunger.

How you doing with the food fizz?

I'm doing ok! I was supposed to weigh in this morning but forgot and had weetabix! It's against the rules to weigh in if any things entered my mouth lol!!! Will weigh tomorrow! When I do I get scared though, I don't know how I'd feel if I'd gained, I'm doing the fitness pal app - it says 1500 calls for my weight , I'm not having that many though, how many do you have on an average day? Xx

Im doing fitness pal too...and im averaging under 1200 a day, some days about 800 if I stick to soups....it says im meant to have 1850 calories a day for my height, weight, but if I can keep it lower, I should lose well.

Im getting loads of gas though :(....and it bloody hurts....

And im not going to the toilet well....Tried a senokot last night, but ouch, worse today....May have to get deflatine for the gas and something for the constipation :(

Poor thing , I'm quite lucky I had the wind pains in my chest for a week then it went, but to be honest I don't trump a lot now , mostly just burp all day :) hope it eases soon x

Hmmmm waiting for the nurse from my hospital to call me to discuss this bloody pain in my stomach...its to the right of the band wound at the top...so no where near any of the work done....Its been there 2 days now....still hurts to breathe deep, to cough, to laugh, to stand up, and to sleep on....its weird as its like the pain I have with the port down on the left, but up high and more sharp, like a stitch or cramp.....And to touch it -omg so tender...

I thought it was trapped wind...but ive walked, done mint tea, hot water bottles, windsetlers - and loads of wind has come out....

Then I thought it was cos I was constipated, but have since been a few times....

So I've made the call, and its best to talk it over with the nurse...otherwise my mind will go loopy trying to figure it out...

One friend said its possibly the Oxygen they put in you during keyhole surgery thats perhaps stuck...and it will come out in time....Thats a decent idea...and wouldnt mind if I just knew it was something simple like that....

Im still on the ideas of it being a slipped band....or gallstone....or bruised stomach....

I do recall the surgeon and I talking after the operation, I asked if he had put any fill in the band already, and he said 'No, just air, which will disperse soon'.....So perhaps that air is lodged in me....

No idea....hopefully a chat with the nurse will put my mind at rest.

Plus I've put in for a emergency appointment at my GPs surgery, to get a GP to push the area, as I dont even think its my stomach....just to make sure...as I wanted to sneekily get a new prescription anyhow, and it was easier doing both at once...

My dietician said that constipation was likely after bypass and told me to get my doc to prescribe lactulose. Now I can go without it, but its uncomfortable - the lactulose really worked and the doc said its harmless and I can take it for the rest of my life.

Just had the nurse from my hospital call me back and have a discussion about this pain....

From what she can tell, I have a swollen/inflammed Diaphram.
She is having a chat with the surgeon and getting back to me later....

She put my mind at rest about the band slippage and such forth...

I told her I had a GP appointment for this afternoon and she asked me to ask the GP to listen to my chest....So I will do.

Phew.....relief.....

Just back from the GP surgery...Saw the doctor...who done an examination on me, Said my wounds are healing really well after surgery. He listened to my breathing, pushed my tummy in places, and the spot where ive been having pain, and said 'Yep, afraid you have pulled the muscles in and around your diaphragm'....So hes put me on 600mg Ibuprofen Tablets 3 times a day....

Told me to take it easy, to watch my breathing, and dont shout lol

At least I now know what the pain was...
