bypass daily menu -

Well Amanda I can certainly equate with constipation issues, movicol just didnt like the taste at all much preferred the fybogel one on a morning and one on an evening used to do the trick for me, but tyr not to take anything now some days are better than others. Our bodies are a bloomin nightmare, hope you gte all your levels sorted out so that you can continue on, you have been doing so well, hope all goes well when CPN comes for her visit. xx As you can tell I am not sleeping again same last night been awake since before 2 tossing an dturning, yesterday morning stayed in bed just moving round all thta time finally went back to sleep woke up 6.55 I leave home for work at 7.30 1 mad rush. Looks like might be same to day. Hate it. My daughter has got a date for her wedding. She has had a phone call from the register office in Edinburgh, quite soon so I have to look for a new outfit. Probably that on my mind not helping. Still nothing for us to do or sort very small affair, we will just travel up with son and his gf and come bak the same day. She has booked train for them 2 and hotel so thats that. exciting really, but few nises will probably be outta joint but heh its her day not ours, she doesnt like lots of fuss, she isnt fancy likes nice things but low key. I'm sure it will be lovely. xx Will let you know when I'm allowed to tell xx

Do you ladies think you sleep the same after you've had your bypass?
I've noticed my sleep is always being intrupted now feeling thirsty or something..
I wonder if the bypass has anything to do with this?? Just a thought

Not sure bout that Emma as I used to have my sleep mask before the op, before that hardly slept at all. but think lot of mine was due to menopause. Don't know if its just stress with having to look for a new job, I tend to have a few nights where I sleep well then bout 10 where I don't. I haven't been back to sleep either and will be at work in just over an hour. will be ready for a kip by lunch time. xx
I think the thing that most affects my sleep is hot flushes, sometimes think it is down to the food, just get snug and then hot flush covers off cool down covers on then away it goes again just no happy medium. Got a bad head probabaly lack of sleep. xx

Well chrisa no wonder you aren't sleeping well, you have a lot of things on your mind, what with your job ending shortly and your daughters wedding just around the corner to say the least... Have to admit, I take 2 x temazapam most nights to sleep, and have been doing so ever since I lost my daughter, and just don't think I would sleep at all without them, and probably addicted to them now after such a long time, so don't need the stress of trying to get off them right now..
I am going to take 8 sachets of the movical today in a six hour period, thats what the doctor told me to do to try and clear the impaction, and then once it clears to carry on with two to three sachets a day to try and keep it clear. I am not keen on the taste either, but if it works I will grin and bear it. I have made it up in a litre jug and popped it in the fridge so I don't have to individually mix up 8 sachets throughout the day lol!!
I thought after last time I would be fine, but nope the constipation is back with a vengeance. Think I just have to accept that for now at least, I am one of the unlucky ones who gets this problem regardless of diet, excercise or any other factor. But again, a small price to pay for the weight loss.. xxx

Up nice and early and just waiting now for the cpn to arrive at 10.30 to do this flipping assessment. Hate these things but necessary I suppose... Had my hair highlighted yesterday and the blonde taken down a few shades so it's less white and a bit more natural looking hopefully.. Haven't decided yet whether I like it or not lol!!!

Hope all went well with the CPN AMANDA XX. Heres hoping you have managed to get the impaction away. I have had pains this morning. Went to toilet when I got to work really bad pains, had a tangeringe bout 6 this mornign and slice of toast before I left the house, coming in waves like it does must av bin the tangerine cos toast doesnt do that. I was still avn pains off and on till bout 12.30 when I took 2 buscopan and had bit of lunch to push through whateva was causing the bloomin cramps, sometines think its the bowel twisting. Bloody awful I know that. Tis fine now so hopoefully thats it for another spell. xx I ahve spells wheer I go to toilet ok then others where I am constipated xx

Don't like the sound of that pain chrisa, I wouldn't well with that at all.... I took all the movical 8 sachets, and waiting hopefully for a result, but nothing yet! hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning, but dreading it, cos I know it's going to hurt!! The CPN they sent to see me is a specialist in bipolar disorder and lithium. But turn out she had a gastric bypass 8 yrs ago, so really does understand what I'm facing. Sad thing though is that she has regained all her weight again. Bit scary also.

Well yes suppose so! Its great to now have a CPN who understands the bypass, and who Is also going to get my Lithium sorted hopefully, but very sad and worrying that she has managed to regain everything. It's made me very aware of how easy it is to fail, even with weight loss surgery. But maybe that's a good thing and will stop me getting too complacent..

She had an RNY bypass! Don't think that has changed. If anything they dont make the pouch as small nowadays!! But as she said the surgery didn't fail her, it was her head that failed the bypass! So I guess We all must just plod on and try and make the right food choices. I'm crossing fingers and toes on that one..... I for one would be devastated if I couldn't get to goal, and then regained..

Thanx Amanda. I wish I had never gone back on the odd sweet stuff cos once you do you look for it, even though on very samll scale still there calling you. x My worst fear putting it back on no where near goal really don't think the doctor ever mentioned a specific weight target to me. I wouldv remembered that. My hosp app was guna be 16th jAN but was cancelled gain, still not got a new one. Will ask when I go next I am over 17month post and have been seen once and that was at 9 months. I know I am ok but what if i wasn't?? Not to worry xx

B- melba, lf Philly grapes
L- lamb, cauli,cabbage,carrots
D- two slices breaded ham, reduced fat wrap, salad, half fat coleslaw
S- aero biscuit bar, edamame beans, honeydew melon

Cals around 700 sweet tooth strikes but as soon as this totm passes no more lol x

That's awful about the hospital appointments! You need that support regardless of how well you are doing.. I don't think you are alone in your fear of regaining chrisa!! I think deep down once we realise that the bypass isn't a magic cure and still needs hard work and discipline from us, we all are secretly terrified of the weight loss stopping and ending up big again.. I know I for one definitely am!!! And listening to that CPN tell her story, although glad of her help and support with the bypass and bipolar, made me go cold. It was like my biggest nightmare was sitting on my sofa!!!! Kept thinking "please lord don't let it happen to me too"..... She is now trying to get revision surgery...

Lovely menu maya!! I'm a sucker for honeydew melon too!! But 700 cals is still pretty low, so you certainly haven't overeaten.. I'm at 750 already today, and will probably have fruit before I sleep so it will be nearer 800 in the end........

Good luck for tomorrow Chrisa. Amanda I hope you get your lithium levels sorted soon. Loads of nice menus today. Feeling generally unwell today. Almost fainted getting out of the shower earlier. Hope it's just an off day. Anyway enough wingeing, here's my menu.

B - Petit Filous and 6 grapes.
L - 2 x Jacobs crackers, tsp of lurpak, 50g of chicken breast.
T - Homemade minced beef & onion in gravy.
S - 6 grapes.

Drinks - Tea, coffee, water, NAS squash.

Hi everyone.

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow Chrisa, it's mine too but I highly doubt a loss this week. Did a mid week weigh and it was up a pound so think it's a gain or sts for me but it's that time of the month so things always go a bit funny for me around then. Hope you get a nice loss.

Glad things went well with the cpn, Amanda, it's a shame she regained but at least like you say you know she understands. I would use it a positive thing thing to help you stay on track but don't worry yourself too much, you are doing extremely well and we don't want complacency but being too concerned can be detrimental too. I didn't know you were on temazepam, me too but just 1 a night. I've been on them 10 years and don't really plan on coming off them unless I have too. I find they work better since the bypass.

My menu today -
Breakfast - Cottage cheese and grapes.
Lunch - tuna salad.
Dinner - lean lamb and vegetable stew.
Snack - slice of ww cheese.

Hope you are feeling better soon Paula.

Oh and one last thing, I found out when I could book some holiday off today at work so very impulsively booked a week in Zante for me and my mum the beginning of May. It's her 63rd birthday tomorrow and it's a pressent for her, she has no idea (if you are friends with me on facebook you've already know all this lol) but I'm going to print off the e ticket tonight and put it in her birthday card. I've told her that she won't be getting a present from me this year as I'm too broke but I've also brought her a book thats story is based in Greece. I'm going to let her open that first. I think she will be so happy as she is a disabled pensioner and I don't think she thought she was going to get to go away again after our last holiday as she just doesn't have the money any more. Plus it something for me to aim for. Hope I'm nearer goal by then :D x
