defrost first or?

hi
if i cook things like shepherds pie,fish pie,chicken pie etc and freeze it do i thaw out before heating up again or cook from freezer? in microwave or oven? also do you think i should liquidize it down before freezing or after? sorry for the questions cant cook to save my life. lol

Cooking from freezer is fine, just make sure to give yourself enough time to cook, as will take longer.

i always defrost from frozen if it homemade so i know for sure it cooked thru but most shop bought things are fine to do from frozen

Hiya Mand, I think you should liquidise it before freezing it well I did anyway. I bought 3 Ice cube trays and did 1 x mash, 1 x veg, and 1 x 1/2 ground meat & 1/2 fish. then just pop em out when needed. 2xveg 1xmeat or fish and 1xmash. Hey Presto!!!! pop em in a dish and microwave. Gail.x

I've done the same as Gail-Michelle, got lil cubes of chicken, fish, veg, mash, stewed apple, also shep pie ready for when needed.

Prefer to defrost mine first but then just pop in microwave and *ping* easy as that!

so i brought fish pie today gonna liquidize then put rest in pots and freeze. then get them out and pop in micro still frozen that ok? ill also do the ice cube thing so just pop out still frozen and microwave. sorry to be thick but making sure its ok as im paranoid with food lol.xxx

I just bought a fish pie and a cauli cheese and blended them put them into tiny pots from sainsburys. I got 6 lots of each, froze them and then in the morning I am getting one out of freezer to defrost by lunch time. Then something different for tea.
