Have date for surgery

I am very excited, went to see the surgeon expecting a five month wait to be told my surgery will be 9 July 2014. I have to start my pre-op diet on Wednesday 18th June. Three weeks on 1000 calories a day. I said you mean the fluid diet and surgeon said no normal food the fluid diet is rubbish. He said he never as recommended that diet. I did read in the literature he gave out that the pre- op diet is usually two weeks. I do suffer from an above average fatty liver which was spotted on a previous investigation so that might be why the extra week.
