Having a sleeve!!

From how u described the pain it had to be gall stones, at least you didn't wait nearly 2 years to be diagnosed like I did. Great news on the library volunteering too, I hope you really enjoy it. It's a great positive step, really pleased for you

That's true! My mum says she doubts them removing gallbladder if they're are only small.. But I said they should reMove it cause of me having wls I'll just get more again.. I'll stamp my feet to have it removed. I can't cope with that pain! Pain has never bothered me, I take pain killers if I can't cope and that's normally it but nothing helps at all and I just cannot cope. I spent over an hour on all fours on my bed trying to get through it.. Can't keep going through that!! Xx

It is one of the worst pains ever! I had a baby / toddler at the time & I was on my own, sometimes the pain was that bad I couldn't even call for help! I had keyhole to remove the stones only. That was 18 years ago now & I've had no reoccurrence since. Fingers x'd! Hope you get yours sorted soon! Xx

Im so suprised the hospital has treated you this way. I went in was given morphine, saw surgeon who sent me for an xray and ultra sound found lots of small stones and put me on the waiting list immediately. Would have kept me on the surgical ward a few days too if I hadnt begged to go home

When I went to a&e with it I had had a ultra sound about 2 weeks before and there were no stones on the scan, and none showed up on the X-ray so I was told by surgeon that it was internal acid... This is why ive not been back a&e.. Will see what my GP says in the morning as what she's wants to do about it.. When I went to a&e I'd taken tramodol about an hour before so they said will give paracetamol if that doesn't keep the pain off next would be morphine but by the time the surgeon came round he'd decided it was acid so no more pain killers were given and was sent home... Just annoying how no matter how many times I've told health care professionals that I've had wls and how common it is to get gallstones that no one has listened to me! I only had the Mri scan because I went to see a liver specialist and complained at him about it.. He said he doesn't deal with gallbladder but would have that included on my liver scan just in case... I obviously started with the pain as soon as the stones formed.. Also most of the women in my mums side of my family have all had gallstones and had gallbladders removed and apparently it can run in family's soo I'm already more prone to them anyway! Xx

Glad you fimally have an answer kirsty

Dr 2nd timer told you that weeks ago hunny!!! Welcome to our world. I feel much better since having my gallbladder out. Don't wait till u get infected, it's nasty . Good luck x

Been ridiculous!! Had the pain most of the day yesterday, had it this morning and then it went at about 11 and then it came back about half 12till half 3!! Saw my GP this morning and she is writing to the specialist to request it to be removed but I think I'll give my wls team a call tomorrow and speak to them, see if they can help it along because no matter how many times I explain to people that I'm more prone to them due to wls and how common it is post op no one seems to be listening!!! So hopefully the team will be able to send a letter too saying it needs removing... Xx

Lmao!! Yep, totally remember everyone who was in the room while I was knocked out!! X

Just spoke to my Liz ( the nurse of my team) at the hospital and they are going to make me an appointment with Mr Ackroyd (who did my sleeve op) to discuss having the gallbladder removed x

Great stuff, the power of this group and sharing info.
They have to go in thru the stomach for ease and having a by pass or sleeve is more complicated, NEVER ever let anyone touch your insides near the stomach, it's the teams jobby , others by make a mess. Luton took over from Grimsby where I collapsed and directed them immediately. There is no way I would let them open me up!!
Good girl for listening and acting. It's a common op for them. They will get you better in no time.
They have your history, will be a straightforward op. Mind you it took me longer to recover than the by pass, but I had been in hospital five times in the six months and been on deaths door with infection, so that would have been the reason why.
Good luck
Ali xx

That's what I was thinking tbh.. Wondered why I'd not been told to see my wls surgeon.. Even when I mentioned it to the dietician at the hospital last week she never said anything. Fair enough she's new there but still.. Thank god I rang the team though. I'd rather go through ackroyd! Xx

I have bought my first EVER pair of SKINNY JEANS today!! From new look in a size 20! I'm between and 18/20 but these just fit. I'm not sure how good the sizings are for new look trousers and Jeans in particular as never buy them.. Happy with a 20 in them though! Xx

I'm so glad you are getting the pain sorted hun, I'm glad you are gonna see Mr Ackroyd about it. Let us know how you get on. I've started having slight twinges in my right side but nothing too painful, just nagging if you know what I mean. It comes and goes so hoping its not the start of the same problem xxxx and woohoo on the jeans, thats brilliant hun xxx

Small bowl of home made chicken and veg soup and BAM in agony thanks to my gall bladder :'(

Thought I'd over eaten at first... But the pain moved into the gall bladder area.. I had to come to the loo for a bowel movement and now I don't want to move cause I'm folded over onto my self and it's not getting any worse.. Good job I bring my phone to the loo with me lol :(
