Hey Kim, pretty much what robina said happened to me too though I've had mine at the thornbury hospital... I never went to a Wednesday meeting. If you mean those ones? Once a month at NGH?

Just having some weetabix for lunch, managed 2 teaspoons upto now... Mums has to go pick my step mum up the she's bringing her back here and going shopping for a few bits for me... X

Hi Kirsty glad ya feeling bit better this has got me worried sick, I've such a low pain threshold I'm such a wuss :-( I can see me crying like a baby! after my meeting last week (weds) pre-op letter came Monday for 21st of feb! whooooop So excited! Plenty of rest when you get home I cant wait to hear your loss's Take care x

Hi kimmiekoo!! Don't worry, I had a sleeve on 3rd jan, and had no pain!!!! I thought I had a really low pain threshold, but if was amazed at how well I felt!!! I had put off my op for ages because I was scared and worried about the post op pain!!! Wish I had done it before, and would do it all again!!! Don't worry , I am sure you will be fine. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

hi, yeh its the one per month meeting I've done the seminar these are the group sessions where people who may have already had the op talk & general discussion next one is 5th march so after my pre-op on the 21st of feb, nothing like being clued up to the max tho!

the nurses did say on the seminar a canular would be fitted for pain relief but when I saw kirsty's post I took a deep breath of shock! I'm not good with pain at all!

hiya kimmiekoo xx i had my sleeve 3 weeks ago, and i have the pain threshold of a gnat!! I cant say it doesn't hurt, because i did, but after the first few days its just like an ache really. The only bad pain is from the wind and once you get rid of that you're ok really. Please don't worry, reading on here everyones experience is different so you might be ok xx

ahh you mean the support group. i booked in for one before my surgery only to have them cancel it the day before due to lack of interest so never bothered booking into another

I'm up for meeting when I feel a bit better. Been to bed for a few hours and my tummy is a bit sore from getting up off the bed... The weetabix stayed down, which is good going to call my doctors in the morning and get an appointment to sort my meds out, still don't have my anti depresents in a liquid form so haven't taken any since Sunday night... It hurts when I cry lol

I'm sorry I'm not much help kimmie, still trying to get my head around everything! X

getting up was one of my worst times too.
i could wake up pain free and then be screaming when my partner came to help me and i was sleeping in a hospital bed! what helped me was taking my pain meds the reading for 30 minutes so it could kick in before i attempted to get up

I think I may have to do that. Took them 5mi a after I got up and rested then 10 min later I started to feel sick so had to go sit next to an open window.. Step mum has just asked me if I am glad I had it done, and I am, I knew there was going to be pain. A few more days an hopefully it'll settle down!! X

don't be daft you've just had major surgery, I think a lot of people think oh weight loss surgery oh its a doddle but infact its god dam serious what they do and it is in fact major operation!
