HI Fin, Im glad all went well for you. I too had one sore spot on my left side. But the pain does go soon, im 5 weeks today and have lost 35 pounds so i am landed. I feel great and even went camping 2 weeks after surgery as I thpught i would have more rest. I would say by the 3rd week i had no pain. Your wieght loss is good too. My friend Skinny came with me and he has also lost over 2 and half stones and he is off his diabetic medication. Did you find the rs and nurses great, and the endoscopy was painless as we were alseep. Did you find that as well@ keep in touch it will be lovely to hear how you are doing. Jacqui x;)

Yay - i found the new thread! I can't believe your weight loss - thats amazing!!!! I don't think i've lost anything in the last week which can't be right as there is no way I'm eating enough calories to stay the same weight! I haven't been drinking enough though - have discovered drinking through a straw is much easier/less uncomfortable. I went back to work on Thursday but it was too much for me, so I've got another week to rest.
Food wise I've been adventurous - still have a scrambled egg or weetabix for brekkie but have been having sweet potato, falafel & hummus, baked beans - all of it is going down ok but have to get used to what the 'full feeling' is.
Thought the doctors in Brno were brilliant, especially seeing them 2-3 times a day. The nurses were great too but some of the practices are about 50 years behind the UK!!! I had a few dignity & privacy issues but you quickly get used to flashing your bits at anyone!!! I've spent 30+ years keeping my stomach covered up but now i'll show the scars to anyone!!

Whereabouts are you based?

I've just started reading Carnie Wilson's book 'I'm still hungry' - she had a gastric bypass 10 years ago. Excellent book so far - her story really rings true, plus there are some good suggestions/rules for post WLS.

Hi Vicki, I live in Neath in South Wales. I am glad to hear ur experience went well. You seem to be eating well, yes it is difficult getting used to be full, as before you would only becomw stuffed after emptying your plate! My friend "Skinny" who went out with me has lost 40 poud! 4 more than me.:cry:but i am more than happy as i feel so different, a spring in my step, and in a size smaller clothes. The book sounds interesting. What part of the country are you from?
