I need filling up!

Hi, you should stock up on proteins like chicken with lots of veg, make sure your meals are bulky and not sloppy, its very hard at the minute with having very little restriction so try your hardest to stick with it, I know lasagne is a slider food but it fills me up, I have a nice slice not too big or small with lots of salad or a small baked potato, when you think you are hungry take a drink it could be thirst and you are confusing it with hunger. Basmati rice is also very good its low GI and as banders we are allowed it daily as a bulky food, try making a stir fry with chicken and lots of veg...babycorn, onions, mushrooms, peppers etc and stirfry it in oyster sauce or sweet chilli sauce or even some soy sauce, keep it quite dry (not too much sauce) and have this with rice it will definately fill you up, good luck I know its hard at this stage but stick with it, it'll be worth it in the end :)

Hi there, just to let you know, most banders are told to avoid bread, pasta and rice as these are low nutrion foods and can swell after you have eaten them and make the pouch stretch or get stuck at the entrance to the stomach.

I would stick to nutrition rich proteins such as chicken, tuna etc.

Will keep my eye on this thread as i sympathise with you hun x

I havnt had my operation yet but i find if i eat tuna or chicken i feel fuller for longer. You can also buy low fat yoghurts that apparently keep you fuller for longer. hope you find something that suits you.

Hi,

I think Cazbandy and Karenlouisemee have the right idea - fill up on the protein element to help you feel fuller for longer - or at least the protein will lower your blood sugars enough to reduce the hunger pangs.

I'm no expert, just an idea. x
