I was wondering if it would be possible to add another prefix - something like 'adult content' or 'risque posting' to warn people that they may find something that they could be offended by. What do you think? x

 im not a prude, far from it lol but i thought this was a wls forum, aint there other sites for that sorta thing? haha:8855:

Liz, I'm was thinking it might help with some of the upset from the past week. I know a few people got upset with some of the postings. Whenever I post anything about 'the loo department' I always make sure I put a warning at the beginning, coz I know it offends some people x

i agree - thats a good idea! yeah, fair enough this site is about wlsurgery but its nice to have abit of a laugh and a banter between us all at the same time to lighten our spirits! and its also nice to know that were all here for each other no matter what the problem too!

I think it's a good idea too. I wasn't on all last week so was not aware of any issues but did see a posting just before that from a mod (Sambucca I think) requesting people not to swear. Some people get very offended by any toilet issues and I have read posts on here about ALL sorts of bodily functions, fluids and candid discussions and questions about relationships post op. Some people may find this sort of thing offensive or upsetting so an accepted warning prefix is a good idea.( The topics are not always best placed in the Private thread). It would be a real shame if these sensitive topics could not be aired on here. There are lots of issues that we may not feel confident to ask a health professional about, need reassurance about post op-or even need to joke about here because no one else is going to understand the kinds of worries, experiences, concerns we have about our post op bodies!:)

Yes Liz but there are also sites for games and pets but we still have sections on this Weight Loss Surgery forum about those.
It doesnt matter what you prefix things with, some people will just choose to take offence no matter what.
I personally will never have a frank and open discussion of post op sex ever again on this forum, even if a XXX section was created!!!
Steph xx

I think it is improtant that folk know what is right and wrong with regards to toilet problems etc it is a bodily function that is affected by weightloss surgery etc, so i cant see how folk would find that offensive, we all go through these things, as for anything else I am not aware of any issues, for me personally I find Swearing offensive and totally un-neccessary.... other than that Well personaly choice i suppose!

ive got to say i dont really think the 'toilet issues' were much of a problem on here, i think the main culprit was meeeee and my extreme sense of humour but ive noted it and there s not been one sniff of the 'g' word since, im trying girls im trying :) xxxxxxx

kellybabes, we know your trying, but we still love you. only joking, you are lovely, and its a shame youve had to rein it in, cos you were so funny, and i cant see how anyone could find it offensive, but there you are, it takes all sorts. we all love you, and dont want you to change. big hugsxx

I agree Dawny. But I'm not gonna say more on the subject 'cos it just riles me. I think its a disgrace that people feel unable to post questions or comments in fear of offending people. This is an adult forum after all.

i agree with you j-mo hun, like you, i am now trying to say as little as possible, cos i do get worked up about it. yes this is a wls forum, but, weigt loss affects every area of our lives, from feeling good, having problems, toilet issues, and yes even sex lives, so it is all relevant. but if it has been ruled that certain things cant be discussed, then so be it. but i think the site loses a little something because of this, as there will be questions that ppl c an no longer ask. but hey ho, such is life. hugs xx

True, very true Dawny!! Personally I read the threads about toilet issues with great interest as I have real, real problems in this area. So bad that there has been times I've been ill as I've not been for 6 weeks!!!!! I daren't say any more!!!!!

im almost sure girls its not the toilet threads, im not a hundred per cent but i would feel ok posting about toilet issues if i was having a problem due to wls, i wouldnt stop jmo.... or anyone else, if you have a worry, xxx

There were several threads removed but no one has said exactly which ones were 'offensive'. I'm gonna join another forum, if I can find one, so I don't have to feel 'uneasy' about what I post!! I've loadsa questions I want to ask....

i think it was majority of mine and one from stephs, it was nothing about toilet issues i dont think, i really wouldnt leave hun, as noone has an issue about questions regardin toilet issues x

u never know j-mo, maybe we will get another section. only time will tell. even if you do find another forum huni, please dont leave us, it wouldnt be the same without you.big hugs xx

Thanks Dawny.
I wouldn't leave this forum but just don't feel confident posting stuff about the "nitty gritty" of our journeys. Yes, we get can get an answer from our team or from the internet but those answers, in my opinion, are general answers!! I want proper answers from people who have experienced what we going thru!! In layman's terms too!
