Im back, and OMFG!!

FEDup1981

I WILL look like this!!
I say that because i NEVER EVER expected this much pain. Ive been in agony, and cant walk well, or lie flat, or lie on my sides at all. Hardly slept. Its been harder than i thought.

Feeling a bit brighter today, tho still in a lot of pain on moving.

Had 1/4 weetabix for breakfast, if that!

My dietician said i could start sloppies yesterday, so i had 2 mouthfuls of yog for breakfast yesterday, and 2-3 spoons of puree soup. Using a straw to drink with, and have to remind myself not to drink too much cos its so easy too.

Thanks for all ur messages of support. Gonna rest up for a few more days xxx

welcome back ! get plenty of rest and take your pain relief & each day should get easier xxx

sorry to hear you are in so much pain hun, but glad the op is all over with and you are home safe.

Take the painkillers hun and get plenty of rest. xxxxx

Welcome back, sorry to hear your in pain, what meds have been perscribed for the pain? co-codamol soluible? if so remember you can become constipated with these and use something to counteract it

thanks every1 xx

im on tramadol, nefopam, and co-codomal 8/500 - ( i got them from chemist myself)

what can i take to prevent constipation?

Benefibre :) Good generous tspoon full every day in a drink (you can't see it, smell it or taste it once mixed), and keep your fluid intake up.

Hope you feel better soon X

thanks, ill text hubby whos in town at mo to get me some.

i couldn't get benefibre so had a chat with the pharmacist and I'm taking Fibre-sure it exactly the same apparently and works wonders:eek::eek:

I found fibresure doesn't dissolve as well as benefibre. bought some when it was on offer and ended up binning it. Personal preference though.

I got pregnancy constipation last week really badly, so doubled up the benefibre to 2 big tspoons a day and its sorted me out nicely :)

Pre-op I had bad IBS, and had been diagnosed with a number of food intolerances which aggravated it. The combination of benefibre and the surgery has meant I have only had 2 IBS flares in the last 9 months and can eat anything.

Glad you are home & rest up. Everyone is different with how much pain they feel so just take it easy and take your pain meds since there is no reason to suffer. Lots of short naps will make you feel better so if you feel sleepy, take a nap. Also try to get in as much protein as possible early days since that will help you heal up faster.

Take care,
Nic;)
