Im new... PLEASE HELP

can someone please help me with something...
underneath my login name and mood etc, the number of unread posts keeps going up and up. Im only really interested in the topics i want to comment on, so is there any way of taking off the unreads and following my personal topics instead? ie replies to my posts etc...

help with this would be great as im getting lost in all this :-/

If you click on User CP which can be found on the top of the page on the blue bar, you will then see to the right a list of threads you have already posted on...
