Debs, sorry to hear you're feeling down. I was referred March 2008, i saw Shaw Somers 28/8/08 told it would be 4-6 months from that date my operation was done on 1st April this year so all in all from start to finish it was a years wait. I rang every two weeks from the 4th month to be told no news as yet then i was at my lowest ebb one friday was off to see if the gp could pull some strings, whilst on the phone to my gp my mobile rang and it was Shaw's secretary offering me a date within 2 weeks. please try and not get too worked up it will happen i promise.
