hospital group i feel so let down

Well what a fool i have been .I feel like i have paid 7 thousand pounds to be cut open.I am so upset take it from me dont use them .I have given them the time to put right the bad after care and its just one thing after another .Surgeon was fine but had first fill end of may after having op in april .15 .009.After this its all bad news no calls from diet lady .Then they made an appointment for me today got there and office was locked no one in .So no band fill all i have had is one to date so can eat anything .Phoned them really tearfull no managers to talk to only girl on the phone said she will get them to ring me tomorrow .After they had not rang me and i said i was upset they sent me a book on pre op not post op a joke.I told them i did not want the car up to the hospital they said they would refund me no refund sent .I asked for receipt no receipt sent either for the op .I just feel so useless and let down these people should not be allowed to get away with it they have taken my money and left me out in the cold .So sorry to go on but so upset if anyone has a number for good after care i would be greatful for the number taking into account i live in Exeter Devon .Thanks for being there xxx:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

I'm so sorry you have been let down badly by the hospital group, it sounds like one c....up after another. I had a bypass privately and so far after care is ok. I know there are a few lovely peeps on here who have after care packages in place so i'm sure they will be along soon to help. Good luck and i hope you feel better soon x

bloody THG again, grrr a few here have also been let down badly by them, which is really startin to pee me off now, they are the worst providor going and should really be exposed to some where like watch dog but no 1 has the balls to do it, i cant as im not a patient of theres or i would do so.

i hope you get sorted soon

hi easter chick my provider was just talking to me about this at clinic last week (wls group) wendy told me to give out her number if anyone was having problems she will help you with aftercare and any problems you are having there are alot of us here on minis who are with wlsg they are great and give all the support you could need

Thanks for your kind words .Well i am going to contact watch dog i am not afraid to do so i feel so badly let down i only hope they are interested in my story .I feel they have not fufilled the contract and it should be addressed.These people in my mind should face the truth and answer to someone .I am just a normal hard working person and they have taken advantage of lots of people it is so wrong.

Sorry you have been treated so very badly by THG. I was v happy with mine but had no-frills package so no after-care - it seems to be this part that they excell at being crap at. Goodluck sorting it out. x

i would send the head person or head of dept or something i very official letter stating what you want and what they promised and what you want done. keep a copy and send it recorded delivery. dont phone just write. say you wait to hear from them within 14 days or youll make an official complaint to X Y Z....

get my drift!?

they cannot treat u like this. they have promised a service they have not given to you!!!

im sure fellow minis would help you compose a letter if need be!

Hi there Easter chick, got to say I had a consoltation with them and I felt very very uncomfortable so I went elsewhere, they promised to call after a couple of days they never did, they said on at least two occasions that they would get someone who had surgery to call me for a chat that never happened either. Im so glad I went elsewhere sorry I dont mean to hijack your thread, good luck with what you are doing.

I'm sorry I can't offer any advice on this as I was an nhs patient for my band. I do hope you get it sorted though because this is taking all the pleasure out of your weight loss journey and just adding stress to your life. Good luck with Watchdog and good luck in getting your refundsxx

I live near Exeter (Crediton), but havent had op yet so cant really offer any good advice.

If there an office of theirs close by that you can go in face to face and see them? And dont move until they talk to you about everything. :) xxxxx

Good luck with watch dog and good on ya for naming and shaming them. Kerrylee could you change your package to the no frills and get your after care somewhere else like the WLS? xxx

All companies have flaws which is why these sites are useful. WLSG aren't 100% either. I was recently recommended Hospital Group for plastics so these must have got it right once. She was singing their praises. Laugh

I went with THG and have a wonderful aftercare package so far. I have a fantastic patient Co ordinator called Emma Beech - she is so on the ball - very reassuring.

I agree, totally apalling service. Never been in your shoes but my advice would be to catalogue everything that has happened...keep it all in a little book or something with times, dates you called, who you spoke to etc. It can be very hard to remember things when you are in an emotional situation. Next, find out the head office details, then phone asking for their complaints department: tell them everything that has happened, what you expect to be done to rectify the situation and a reasonable timescale to sort things out, say 14 days, warning them that if no action has occurred within that time, you will be seeking legal advice & going to the press. If nothing happens within those 14 days, go to a solicitor specialising in medical malpractice. As I understand it, everyone is entitled to the first half hour free (does that still stand?). It may be worth paying out for a very strongly worded letter from an official solicitor to spring them into action, & I would also attempt to claim that back from them. Don't give up, being pro-active & persistent will eventually pay off I am sure. Good luck xxx
