Hi I'm 2.5 years out from bypass.
I'm waiting for revision surgery date.
Something isn't quite right and they want to tweak it a bit as I have no restriction.
So I will be joining you on that LSD very soon fingers crossed..

I've gained 17lbs back over the past 12 months or so.
Not a major gain but I wasn't at goal and I'm waiting for spinal surgery.
Can't have the spinal op till BMI is lower so they want to see if they can tweak my pouch etc to get the scale going in the right direction again..

Just a waiting game for me at the moment.

It's so much less of a rollercoaster once you know your dates isn't it..

Yours will be upon you before you know it.

What is your starting BMI ? Xx

I'm also having surgery in March...14th here. Not ready at all, but I doubt I'll ever be. I just hope I'm first on the list that day, not sure my nerves can handle waiting around in the hospital all day. Never had surgery before and am absolutely petrified.

Best thing I ever did!!

My BMI was 46 pre op so I was desperate to have mine done.

I found the recovery from surgery relatively straight forward.
Only thing I didn't expect was the Fatigue I had for quite a few weeks.
It took me by surprise to be fair.
Once my body got used to the calorie deficit and past the liquid stage things got less tiring for me.

Only thing I always say to people about to have the op that work full time is that to get as much annual leave /time off afterwards to allow for your body adjusting.
The last thing you need is to stress about not feeling up to getting back to work as early as you thought you would.
I'm sure you will be fine..
Have you taken your measurements before you start the LSD??

I think it's so important to measure everywhere that you can, so that if you hit a plateau you can watch the inches disappear instead.

I had times where I STS for a few weeks but lost 2 inches from my waist and hips etc !

Keeping a record in your own way gives you something to look back on as the months go by post op that's for sure x X x

No, my surgeon doesn't want his patients to do the LSD and I want to stick to his preferences. So I'm just doing a balanced, low-cal diet.

I've got a really damaged spine so can't do much in the way of exercise due to pain.

I am a taxi driver so at least I am able to keep working till they can sort it out with more surgery.

Driving long distances also has its challenges but I do the most I can.

I've already had two major repairs done to my spine and have wallis devices inserted into 4 facets in my lumber part.

It's degenerative spinal disease so there is nothing I can do to stop further damage. All my consultant can do is repair the joints as they crumble.

Here's the ironic part though..
When I weighed 21st 7lb I never had any pain or problems.

In 2008 when I was 13st I woke up one day and couldn't move or bend.
The pain was excruciating and I could barely walk.

WLS for has been paramount for me to maintain my ability to work and to just be in bearable pain.

Not all about wanting to look good etc (but of course that's a bonus).

I used to be the queen of step aerobics when I was in my teens and really enjoyed the whole workout scene.

I would love to be able to go to the gym at for a power walk but my body just isn't up to it.

If I was able to exercise I don't think I would be as heavy as I am.
But hey ho it is what it is ..
I have a good husband and great kids/grandkids so I'm not complaining .

Do you exercise? Do you intend to post op??

Swimming is a fab all over low impact way to tone and burn cals.
And it's the only thing I can manage ..
Can't power through the water but I do go and swim lengths of breaststroke when I get the chance xx

Oh wow @valentine , you've been through a lot! I hope you get good help from the NHS in terms of pain specialists etc? Hope they can get the revision sorted soon so you can kickstart the loss again x

Yeah I did the same and had put on too so when I weighed one week after I took it from the day of op weight. Just go with your body and eat whatever you can stomach little and often. I struggled with getting fluids and enough food in in the day and I still struggle with cold drinks so I drink lots of coffee made with milk to get some extra calcium in too. I lived on homemade vegetable soup, yogurt, jelly, custard, just eat whatever goes down and don't worry about calories at this stage as your not eating enough for the calories to count x

That's what I thought ... I have been making smoothies with natural yoghurt fruit and no added sugar squash. I agree that warm coffee is a lot easier to drink, I'm adding extra milk powder to it also. Thanks Hun!! Hope going back to work goes well for you! Are you onto pureed foods now? Xx

Yes and it's definitely easier so I'm eating a lot of mashed potatoes with corned beef and beans, add a bit of grated cheese for added protein and it's sooooo yummy after all the sweet stuff. It really does get easier by the day too. Be prepared for a few tears as it plays havoc with your hormones but it's normal and I can honestly say I feel 100% better than I did before, I haven't needed my cpap machine and I haven't snored which results in better quality sleep so that helps x
