my appointment has come through yey

well just a little update some of u may know that a few weeks ago i recieved a letter following my gp refering me to a wls surgeon saying that they r unable to accept referals from gp's that it has to be a specialist in weightloss and weight management and that because of that he surgeon was refering me t the weight loss cclinic, i called to see if they had an appointment on the system yet and they said they hadnt recieved a referal and told me to contact my gp and they would contact the surgeons secretary to see where the referal is my gp then faxed my referal over and i called them bk and they had recieved the referal from the surgeon i asked how long it would be till i got an appointment they told me to call bk in a wks time which i did do and they said unfortunatly with all the pressure they have with ppl that have weight problems and waiting for wls that there was appointments being booked as late as december even january so to call bk in 2 wks and see if ive got one, well i reciaved a letter today with an appointment for the 22nd of this month YEY :553:
i know after this appointment it may still be a wait but im a step in the right direction and im super chufed
how long did u wait from this point to surgery??

Laura i know you! I'm on sally, michelle and angie's friends lists on facebook..abi as known by my mates, although my real name is kelly lol...I went to my gp in november last year and i have done my slim course, which is once a month for 6 months at the hospital and finally saw mr super yesterday and he said my op will most likely be january as i may just miss the december slots..so will be about 14months in total from going to my gp. hope that helps..x

Im under Walsall and my gp refered me last week after me using the pct to get it done, i received a letter saturday off pct telling me i was being offered nhs weight specialist managment service a one-one programme for 24 weeks with a multidisciplinary team and had to wait for an appointment . I called the hospital out of curiosity to see what the waiting time is to start the course, and they have told em something completly diffrent, they told me i had been put on LEVEL 4 with no explanations at all and was for 12 months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can anybody please explain to me as im really upset today and i dont understand what this LEVEL 4 means thankyou so much for taking time to read this xxx

i got referred by my gp about 2 yrs and done the weight loss thing with dr theiri hoping i wont have to do that again but if i do its one of them things but i hope they take in to concideration that ive done that before but we will see good luck with ur wljourney xx

im not sure what that means maybe its u have to be on a weight management course for 12 months b4 surgery?? post a new thread and im sure someone with more knowledge than me be along to help u xxxxx
