How long do you have to wait for the first fill?

Hi, they've told me my first fill would be around 5 weeks but I go on holiday at 5 1/2 weeks so was advised at preop to have my first fill when I get back but would prefer it before as this will be 6 1/2 weeks as anyone had first fill earlier or later??? Lisa x

Hi lisa,

An infection is causing my pain its in my port incision. Im only on stage two so smooth mush so I dont know about what I cant eat yet. No pain from band itself. Since 19th march ive lost seventeen pounds.

They are fixing the infection so pain should go. Xxxx

Well done Lou over a stone in a few weeks which hopefully makes it all worthwhile and you will feel better soon. Lisa xx

Hiya and welcome.

I had band end of AUgust last year and am near the 5 stone mark.

Best thing I ever did.

Where you having your op at?

Oh my well done such an achievement!!

I'm at THG I will have to travel to Birmingham but am hoping to be on the list for the afternoon so I can set off after the school run at 8am due to my partner not supporting me and having to book the transport but they have said my mum can travel with me and stay in an hotel nearby??

How has your experience with surgery etc with THG been?? Lisa xx

That's exactly why I'm worrying about Lisa, I know exactly how you feel. I'll find out on Thur next week what I have to do. Do you know if you're having a balloon or band? :)

Hi Katy, I was open minded but they advised my BMI was too high for a balloon so I've got my head round having the band and surgery but didn't expect the strict no alcohol and milk diet before but they've now said only for 1 week so I am getting ready to start next Monday (hopefully my last Monday diet).

I will let you know how I do keep in touch with your update on Thursday not long now!

Hi Lisa, 1 week (I wish! They're making me do 2 weeks!) Lol! Maybe that's because I'm having the sleeve though.

Good luck with the pre-op diet - let us know how you get on xx

Hi lisa in response to your question about fill timings I had my op on the 24th march and my first follow up app is on the 19th may. I am assuming I will be offered a fill then but my appetite is currently not yet back anyway. Xxx

How long do you have to wait for the first fill?

Sorry for the late reply but my phone line has been down for a week thanks to a neighbour who dug up the telecom cable.
First fill will be end of April which will be 6 weeks after surgery but I will probably only have a tiny fill as I'm going on holiday in June with friends who know nothing about my wls. That doesn't mean I won't stick to small portions of mainly protein but hopefully it will mean that I don't have to rush off to the loo.

Hi Lisa, if you keep your positive attitude you will succeed. I am lucky enough to have been able to pay for my surgery but not without saving but it's too much money for me not to succeed and for those who have National Health support they have made a vast investment in time and effort and can't afford not to succeed.
This forum is a great aid to staying focused and as I have been off line for a week I've missed it.
