I am miles away from this but could you tell me do you wear knickers and can you wear a bra (I dont want to out the surgeon off what he is doing lol) ? also do the gowns fit - are they big ones ?

also when you are walking to theatre do you wear slippers and a housecoat ?

Yes you wear slippers and dressing gown to theatre, I didn't wear my dressing gown as I hate them!!
The gown drowned me, I was a size 18 and i'd say the gown would have fitted someone who was maybe a size 28??? im not sure, maybe they put gowns in ur room that will suit each person. I was told i was on the smaller side of the scales and bands etc were performed in a different hospital for bigger people so maybe Dolan Park had small gowns, im not sure
 
You may feel like you're miles away from this but it will come round sooner than you think!

We were given paper knickers to wear but they were far too small! So I went commando. My surgeon prefers to catherterise his bypass patients so if you did wear knickers they'd have been in your bag before you woke up!
Bras were a definite no-no as one of the laparoscopy incisions was right between my boobs.
The gowns were HUGE - room enough for two of me! I wore my own dressing gown and slippers to walk to theatre.

My gown too was big on me and i'm a size 24, the fetching knickers fitted just fine! Know what you mean about the boobs, i was thinking never mind getting past my liver can you get past my boobs lol. The answer to that was yes, so trust me if they can get past mine they will get past anyone's lol. You will look as gorgeous as the rest of us have done on the day lol xx

:giggle: oh stop, they have you on the table sitting sort of half up-right, they have to do this for all the organs to be sitting in the right place which will make the bubbies hang down even more :giggle:
 
I wore my own nickers they dont mind so long as they are 100% cotton, no bra though. I got 5pairs of white cotton full nickers from matalan £2.50 sz 24. Mr Ammoris lets you keep your own on so I felt better with that at least I could keep 1/2 my dignity L.O.L the paper ones would have buried me and the gown did for that matter. G.M:p:p
 
The gowns at salford are defiantly big enough they fit me (size 32) so dont worry. They use new disposable ones that open at the front so its easier to get to your tummy. They provide you with paper knickers too but dont worry there are different sizes so its all good! No bra though unfortunately!
 
Lol good post i think it just is diff from hospital to hospital. We were told in the info meeting they have not got disposable gowns for us and they are massive as peeps complained they were not big enough.
Also this is slightly OT lol but my hospital dont have operating tables no more its like a large dentist chair with ur legs like in stirrups like ur giving birth :) can u imagine getting into that position in the chair going commando not looking forward to that one lol xxx

Lol would not mind that but at least ur on a bed and knocked out b4 they reveal all lol, i will have to position myself in the chair with everyone seeing what i did not have for breakfast lmao xxx
 
I wore paper knicker's & a paper hat - I was just happy to know they had me the right way up......lol
