Home from the USA :-(
I would love to hear from anybody that has had WLS and has PCOS.
I have been tortured with illness for 14 years, it's truly awful.

was wondering whether wls surgery is any less effective, how it helps with insulin resistance & other symptoms, whether band or bypass better, and hear peoples experiences really!

hi rose i have pcos and have just had a band fitted with wlsg on 18th of july i read in another post your going to see wendy on the 27th im going then as well for my first fill might see you there my appt is 1.30pm xxheather

my provider told me it would take me longer to lose weight with my band than someone with a band and no pcos, i have heard other minis members say that the band has helped some of their pcos symptoms. obviously losing weight helps with the fertility part of pcos.
for me i hope it gives me more energy and i lose my beard/tash

My appt is 12.00!! Would be FAB to see you!

I agree with Julia in bath to some extent..............surgeons vary as some say pcos and banding is a no no , others say yes........I have lost 4 stone on my own with out the aide of wls, and yet my symptoms have not shown any sign of going............and yet others ppl tell a different story......it varies from person to person, so one persons tale will not reflect another and so on.............

All the best - MeJulie xx

Oh I am SO with you on the flippin beard!! I bought an epilator and used it on my lip/chin/neck last night, blinkin brilliant (if total agony). No more waxing every fortnight for me!

I have been refused a band because I have pcos Mr Ammori said it was pointless as I would be back in 9 months and be having a bypass. I am waiting for him to answer my questions for this which I will pass on but I think it is now after reading and having replies because teh bypass removes part of the intestine this is where pcos sufferers have the problem because thsi is where the excess sugar in absorbed (I think)
when i know more i will put it on here xxx.

i suffer from hirsutism as well, tried all different treatments and the only one that worked for me was ipl laser removal , after one zapping took away 95 % of the facial hairs. i went to a specialist who told me , waxing or plucking is the worst thing u can do with hirsumtism, shaving is best , hope you dont mind me passing this info on

I am pleased of ANY advice, I welcome it all!

I was considering lazer (through sk:n), as a male friend just had it on his whole face to never shave again and it worked brilliantly.

I think if i still had the facial hair after I lost weight I would definitely go for the lazer...
