PCT Funding - waiting for a callback

I'm not one to sit back and assume my case is progressing. I've done that too often with things only to find there was a problem weeks/months previously and nobody had done anything about it.

So I phoned the PCT this morning to get an update on my funding application. Only managed to get someone to answer the phone today - been ringing for a week!

Well, guess what? They don't seem to be able to find an application for me :mad:

It figures! If anyone's file can go missing it will be mine.

She was a very nice lady though and promised to look into it and call me back.

I'm already tetchy with sleep deprivation today - I really don't need this

oooo karen!!! damm them!!! grrrrr makes me mad, here s hoping by the end of today its sorted huni!! just ring every day and pester and pester till you know there admin is in order, this is stressful enough without people 'losing' things oooo hugs hunni x

Oh my word! Doesn't it make you cross!
Sending big hugs Kay....and good on you for casing the silly beggars up!

xxxxx

Hope they get it sorted soon for you

I have funding in place Spire hospital just waiting for copy of my sleep study then it will be all systems go.Can the hospital copy and post a simple letter saying I dont have apneoa??Can they sxxt!!!Fifteen weeks ago I had the test!Lab asst.told me there and then it was negative.Phoned the doc who ordered it every week and either cant find the notes or they are on his desk or the systems are down.Four months!!!!

4 months is ridiculous. Sometimes it feels like they're causing these delays for a reason. My specialist nurse hasn't even applied for funding yet. He's waiting til I have all the pre op tests. I keep expecting the pct to suddenly change the goal posts due to the recession.

|Oh my that's so annoying. And what happened to the enlightened age of pc's/email etc etc?

This is what I'm fearful of - that they'll cut even applying for funding let alone giving any.

Not heard anything yet. Been to BEEP exercise session for two hours but my eldest was in and no phone call.

I can more or less guarantee I will have to phone again and still not get an answer.

Bol*&^%&... Hope it gets sorted soon x

kepp on there back luv - and dont trust that they have sorted it when they say they have this time either - phone back a few days after just to confirm. if you struggeling to get hold of them on the phone then maybe it mite be worth writing them a stern letter and sending it recorded delivery

I would send a stern letter (I'm quite good at that lol) but I don't want to get their backs up in case I don't get funding :)

No word as yet. I will phone again later this morning.

Any news yet...

I know exactly how you feel.....I have been on the phone all day to my pct trying to chase my funding case...my less than helpful G.P just told me to stop being impatient...i have waited a month almost.

It does seem that most of these professionals only work part time...or pass the buck to other people...
i asked to speak to anyone linked to bariatric surgery and got through to a neighbouring desk.she was a person in "mental health continued care"....although at that point of the day i probably needed her services too...lol
I have to ring tomorrow.

you have to keep on at them ive been fighting lancashire pct for a year now.
they loose things set you new criteria etc etc.
mine is being reviewed again as ive done everything they have asked of me and more but for some reason they dont know who or when it is being reviewed that was four months ago and still waiting.
hope you have better luck
theres no harm in keepeing contact with them.
kerry

I agree Karen... if you send a recorded firm letter and copy to your GP and any consultants you may be under if possible, never ever give up! xxx

Go for it! xxx
