Procedure for Sunderland

Hiya everyone, well survived Glasgow, I have never laughed so much for a long long time! The "Lady Boys" were great, I managed to put on 2 kilos but lost them again in the last 2 weeks, so really happy, as I did not restrain myself in any shape or form, well in the eating and drinking! My first appointment with Mr Small or one of his collegues is 2 weeks today. Yippeeeee:bliss: then on the Saturday I am off to Scotland for my week's indulgence, I might need to check in to the Priory to detox after all the additional whiskey I will be sampling whilst up there! I sound a right alcholic but I am enjoying it all whilst I can, cause once I have the bypass that is it.

Glad you had a good time. ou will be booking in for a bypass adn liver transplant with all the whisky lol. Good luck for your appointment, let me know how you get on. Can you remember if I am 1 or 2 months behind you as I have not heard anything as yet? I had the group session in June.

Hi
Just thought I would say hi on this thread.
I live in Sunderland and I saw my gp a few weeks ago who referred me to mr Small. (what an ironic name!!).

Anyway, it would appear the process is quite lengthly so I think I am going to do it privately, I am just so impatient and if everyones experiences are anything to go by, I could have had the op and lost the weight privately in the time it takes to be seen!

Anyway, got my consultation with WLSG on 27th Aug so fingers crossed :)

If you have any more meetings in the area I would love to come!

Rose, Our "meetings" are really informal, great excuse to hit the metrocentre do some shopping then have a lovely coffee, relax and have a chat with friends. Anyone is welcome, only critieria is that you are a member of minimins! I am hoping that we will have a meeting next month as I am on holiday when Liz and Sarah hold the support group at the hospital (NHS patients only), so keep an eye out and come along.

Lesley

Hi everyone. After speaking to Lesley this morning, we are meeting at costa's this Saturday (22 August) at 3pm. If anyone would like to join us for an informal chat you are more than welcome.

jan why does your mood say dead ??? are you ok hun ?

Hi Liz
Yea I am ok....sort of just going through a difficult time with other health issues. I have a review appointment with my rheumatologist this Saturday to try and find out why I am so stiff and swollen with pain. I don't think it's due to my low calcium and Vit D levels as he thought. So hoping I will get some answers on Saturday. Dead because I am off sick and can't do anything lol

As Jan has cancelled, it seems pretty pointless for me to go alone to sit like a lemon at Costa, so have no alternative but to cancel unless someone can definitely confirm that they will be attending.

lesley any saturday suits me apart from that date as me and sarah have arranged to take the kids away for the day, rearrange it for another date and i shall attend, and sarah wil probably be available as well.

liz x

hello yes im free any other sat so set a date and ill be there x x x x x x huge hugs to janet i hope your feeling better soon x

i won't be able to make it on Saturday as i'm going shopping with friends for fancy dress outfits and wigs etc for a hen night. Can't do the 29th either as i'm at a wedding, so unfortunately the next time i will see you all is at the hospital meeting on 3rd Sept.
Is that still on and is everyone going ?
God knows i need all the help i can get. I got loads of Thorntons chocs for my birthday that i can't bear to throw out (i keep passing them over to Marcus - his poor gall bladder is going ballistic !)
Hopefully see you all soon

hello yes the support group is all set for the 3rd off sep me and liz will be there and i really hope to see everyone there have a great hen do and i hope the wedding is fab x x

I am soooo happy, been to Sunderland Royal today, have lost 10Kgs! Needless to say very happy with the loss, it has been agreed to put me forward for the bypass. Dietician has asked me to maintain but ideally loose some more weight, which I will set to once I have had my holiday next week! I just have to wait now..... Was told it would be approx 4 months to my next appointment. Just before Christmas.

Thats really good news for you Les. I am sooo pleased for you. Does that mean you don't need any further tests and at your next appt you will be given a date for surgery?
Enjoy your holiday. I look forward to 'catching' up with you when you get back.

Jx
