Sorry about this but I went to McDonalds this morning

and I ordered a coffee :8855:

I was feeling a little groggy on the drive to work so I had a coffee for that kick. I even have a pack of sweeteners in the car :D

I tell the joke at work that they now have a missing persons picture of me there as they have had to lay off staff because I haven't been for 12 weeks :8855:

lol Mix well done for being so full of willpower ..

Personally McD's is lush for 3 secs then your starving so I tend to stay away, although a milkshake could last all day, 5 hours to eventually get it to the top of the straw !;)

:):):):) congrats on ur engagement, but its not very fair that people have now been laid off as they have lost their best customer lmao xx

I was the same, i used to eat 20 chicken nuggets or 3 packs of mozarella dippers OMG!! I used to say I didnt know why i was gaining weight!!!!

not been in a maccy D's or KFC since my op. Good going you for going in and not buying food

well done, i used to eat loads of maccy dees, now i go in with my son order a happy meal for him and i have nothing for me, it doesnt bother me at all now, well done hun xxx

ugh, god i hate macdonalds. I used to go when i was in my early teens but it was only because my friends were.

Then i watched a program were they had hidden cameras in the preparing area, and tbh what i saw was not nice. Spitting, and stirring the mcflurries with their toggers was only the icing on the cake.

*shudders*

xxx

You had me going there for a moment. Well done for sticking to just the coffee.

Never been a big fan of McD's. I begrudge spending all that money on a meal only to feel hungry again half an hour later.

I used to love McDonalds. One of the reasons for getting so big in the first place. Meat meat and meat. I was a pig, I'll admit it.

On the way to work on a night shift I'd call and get a meal and an extra burger then have something about midnight then call on the way home for a breakfast and an extra double sausage and egg McMuffin.

That was every day!! When I think of the crap I put into myself and the amount it used to cost me, I was spending £25 a day on fast food, i am ashamed. But then that was what made me happy. I wasn't happy after thinking about it, but at the time, that's what made me forget about everything else!!

This is the first time I've been to McDonalds since pre-op. So about 14 weeks in all. I wasn't tempted at all. I fancied a coffee and that's what I got.

My 'fiancé' (I nearly put girlfriend) and kids haven't had one since then either, which I don't think is a bad thing :D

My kids had a mcdonalds for lunch today and OMG it smelt lovely. I seriously considered sucking a chip but then thought better of it and had to leave the room while they ate it.

Pre op, I used to have a maccy D's at least once a week, and I always had to have extra's as well. The apple pies were my fave.

Congratulations, on both your engagement and not going to McDonalds! I think it's amazing that you had so much willpower that you could put yourself right in the middle of temptation and only have a coffee :)

Are there other forumers from Sheffield? I came here for uni and never left!

Although I'm on CD (stumbled through New Posts), reading about McD's really isn't a trigger for me! I liked it when I was very small, but over the past fifteen years I've only been once - in 2005, to one in Oxford Circus when I was on a night out. I had six chicken McNuggets and was sorely disappointed that they didn't taste of anything!!

Yeah, there are a few from Sheffield on here :D

Though I'm a little outnumbered by the ladies, which isn't a problem at all :flirt2:

Nice of you to pop in to the SWL area and say hi :talk017:

i love the latte's from mc donalds especially since for every 6 you buy you get one free. lol seem o have had a lot of free ones since my op. one of the little ones i have has a very limited diet and chicken nuggets is the only protien she eats so when i take her i get a latte.
i have had a burger since my op. i say a burger i had the meat, onions, gurkin and half the roll and i have also had a bacon roll again the bacon and half the roll. Oh and also the fruit packs.
did i enjoy them yes! would i have it again yes if in the same situation of being out with a child and teaching them that you sit at the table to eat in resturants. but certainly not something i would make a habit of eating on a regular basis.

The thing is, I know I have extreme control issues. If that's the right wording.

I know for a fact if I had one of anything, then that would be it, I'd have them regular! It's the same as the sugar thing. I know I have probably a 50/50 chance of being OK with having more sugar. But I don't want to because I know if I have it that once and I'm 'OK'. I'm not sure I could stop myself.

So it's either have none, or have lots. I know when it comes to food, there is no middle ground! I hope people are understanding me here :D

I'm not saying I won't ever buy the kids McDonalds again, but, if I'm honest, I used them as an excuse to go and me have some. After all, the price is really good IMO. I have bought them fish and chips a few weeks ago as we had been out and it was convenient as we didn't want to cook late in the evening. It's great in moderation. But unfortunately, I can't do moderation. I guess we are all different!

understand you compleatly. the one thing that having my bypass has proved to me is that fortunatly i really dont have any food issues. I really can take it or leave it and because of the fear of dumping i can leave the bad stuff alone and dont miss it as there are much nicer things out there.
well done on your restraint it cant be easy when it has been yr daily calling.

One of the reasons I decided on the bypass rather than the band was Mcdonalds milk shakes, they are the single only thing I like that the place sells (I am vegetarian and don't like chips).

I just do not have the willpower to not have them, so now I can't and that is great!

Kids have McDs once or twice per month, they love them, it's quick easy and cheap and in moderation won't do them any harm. Now i guess I will get a black coffee!

Well done mixman.
